The callous disregard we show toward some of our closest cousins on this planet is shameful.

It's funny man, a while ago I was watching Beneath the Planet of The Apes for the 3d time and I now realize how justified were the actions the Apes were doing against humans, like imprisoning and torturing them. We really deserve this.

No one deserves that--not humans, apes, or any creature. I have no respect for someone who'd do that to another creature.

Is there a list somewhere of the common everyday brands that have this in them?

EDIT: Nevermind, here is a site with a list, not sure how accurate:

    http://www.angelfire.com/planet/palmoilproducts/food.html

It seems notable that the vast majority fall under the "sustainable yield" heading of supposedly using palm oil that is not directly dangerous to the environment, on the other hand some of the others such as Little Debbie or McDonald's are pretty commonly purchased products.

I'm against killing any primates if it can be helped. This is senseless. Sadly this process supports economies and industry so it won't stop. I don't want to pay ridiculous prices for oil or do without but at the same time I don't want apes and animals being burned and beat to death to get me the oil.

Well, no need to take everything so literally. What I meant was that I understand their actions and their hatred against us in general but of course I wouldn't wish torturing in any kind. Nor animals, nor humans.

Good find. Thanks. I guess though that we can also check the ingredients in the back of every product we buy.
