ParaNorman

I saw this with my gf and her kids. We all really enjoyed it. I love the homages to old horror films. The story is a bit depressing but the zombie chase scenes are fun , there's decent character development, and a good moral at the end to wrap things up. There's a couple scares but most of it's played for comedy.I think it depends on your kids but most will have fun

The only thng I didn't like was the ghosts becoming irrelevant to the story halfway through the film. It's like they went into hiding when the witch was awoken.

Definitely on my top ten list. Also one landmark in film... or at least I think so...

Although supporting, first LGBT character in a children's animated film (or, at least I think so, might be wrong...)

Imagine if this was not animated. How could wouldn't it have been?

Would love to see a live action version but it already looks like a cross between so many movies, with a little bit of The Frightners, Monster Squad, Return Of The Living Dead, & Scooby Doo all rolled into one.

Haha, how they got that last joke in is beyond me, but the audience cracked up.

If you're talking about the boyfriend thing - I think it's because the film makers were able to make the studio see the importance of it and how it fit into the tone of the script. I have a project with a similar message and having a gay guy just naturally seems to fit into the tone so that's bound to help. It is a revolutionary move though, as said - think it's the first gay character in a children's film.

This movie really surprised me. Absolutely phenomenal.

Just got back from this. I'm not the biggest fan of stop-motion movies (I think Corpse Bride was the last one I saw), but this was a great movie. 8.5/10.

I adored this movie. I didn't see the revelation of the witch's identity coming at all. It broke my heart. And I wanted to stand up and cheer at the "boyfriend" joke. That was a really genuinely funny, clever, and ballsy thing to do.

Watching it now, and loving it. the Halloween 4 reference(although using a hockey mask), complete with the cell phone having the theme was hilarious.

My #2 film of 2012, freakin' awesome.
