The Beatles Are Zombies With Option of Book 'Paul is Undead'

Following in the footsteps of big adaptations of books like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Deadline reports that zombies have infiltrated the world of iconic musicians as Double Feature partners Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher have optioned the forthcoming Alan Goldsher novel Paul is Undead, with a story that re-imagines the history of The Beatles where the four legendary musicians become zombies. Though it sounds very interesting on paper, the concept does seem a little less marketable than the aforementioned vampire and zombie-infused re-imaginings of history and literature.
Written as oral history, the book details how Lennon, a zombie guitarist in Liverpool, kills and reanimates McCartney, then does the same with Harrison and Starr. They deliver hits and bloody mayhem across the world, pursued by England's greatest zombie hunter, Mick Jagger. They also engage in a battle with Eighth Level Ninja Lord Yoko Ono, and snack on the brains of swooning fans. I'm not sure how The Beatles feel about this, but I'll admit that having Mick Jagger as a zombie hunter and Yoko Ono as an evil ninja is pretty damn brilliant, even if it sounds like something you'd come up with after being high for a whole week. But Sher, who has produced films like Pulp Fiction and Erin Brockovich, couldn't be more excited for this:
"I am a huge Beatles fan like the rest of the world and Alan's mash up, which really showcases his love of music history and his appreciation of the zombie world, is a fun, funny read. The illustrations are fantastic, and how can you not love a book where Jesus agrees with Zombie John Lennon, that the Beatles are in fact bigger than him. We will be going out to studios, financiers, and talent soon."
I can't help but imagine heaps of people, including plenty of Beatles maniacs, turning into a zombie worthy herd of naysayers, but at least this is something original (and we know how rare that is). However, this could end up being somewhat therapeutic for Beatles fans who would probably love to see the fab four take down Yoko Ono in one fell swoop and fight Mick Jagger for the title of Best British Import. And if you'd like to check out the book before the project really gears up for production (probably a little ways off since I'm sure there's plenty of likeness rights and such to be secured) you can check out the novel when it is released on June 22nd this summer. What do you guys think of The Beatles becoming bloodthirsty zombies?
