Hmmm, now this was interesting.

Some of you may have seen the following comedy video floating around the net at some point over the last few years, sometimes under the title "Technical Virgin", a parody of abstinence programs promoting anal sex
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1994546325179027565&q=technical+virgin

I saw this video a couple years ago and laughed at it. Now I've seen hundreds of clips off the internet, and you never expect the people on them to ever go on to do something notable. But the actress who starred in this, Melanie Martinez, actually went on to become the host of a PBS evening kids program entitled The Good Night Show.

And now it seems she alerted (the article says) the network of these videos (which were done SEVEN years ago) - and the Network fired her pretty much on the spot.

That's pretty extreme, wouldn't you say? I mean, yeah, the vid is too risque for pre-schoolers, but they would never have seen it, and PBS is the station that hired George Carlin to play Mr. Conductor! This is a mite bit ridiculous, wouldn't you say?

in any case, here's the article on the matter http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/24/AR2006072400931.html

and if you also find this ridiculous, you can sign a petition at www.technicalvirgin.com

Petition signed - It's ridiculous it should be held against her Eli in the UK we have a tradition of inapropriate kids presenters I respect.

The lesson here is that pranks and jokes might be momentarily, but the internet is forever.

serously is that **** for real :o

That's it, I'm never admitting to anything I do and using codenames. Though I got some local flood footage on the News today and they mentioned me by real name. :(

if i was a network exec i'd hire all these "disgraced" personalities. they'd work cheap with something to prove.

Signed. This is just pigheadedness at its highest.

I feel bad for her getting fired, but seriously why would anyone do that clip? lol

WHOA SNAP! I didn't know that. course I never really watched alot of those train station shows whenever i was little. I remember one episode how they got some "Cajun" dood to come in and play the "spoons" as a musical instrument. Then I tried to copy him. But now that I think about it, I always did say looking back on it, that the mr. Conductor dood was blazin backstage. I just have a sixth sense about these things.

Oh, and umm. That girl shouldn't have done that vid. It wasn't funny in the least bit, and it ruined her career as a talk show host celebrity whatchamacallit. lol. Dumb ________

I thought I recognized her. Huh, I wonder if she's still a technical virgin. :o

I mean im suprised that its allowed on the hype.

i don't always understand why the sins of someone's pasts always have to come up and ruin their future...

she didn't even do anything bad and acted pretty well in the advert.

it was just an unfortunate call....i wish her the best in her career...

For real, what happend to the NSFW warning?
i think the context of the opening postpretty much gets anyone ready for what they are about to witness...

:)

That's like saying Sex Ed. Class is NSFW. The description could be the same, the end product differs greatly.

I think its only a pg13 rating at max. Eli is right to post it. It's also funny and the subject matter of past sins not being forgiven due to prudish behaviour a good one.

She could save alot of pain and go on the pill :p

Anyway i signed it people should lighten up abit

That's stupid. She didn't do it on the show, so why should they care?
