Hmmm, now this was interesting.
Some of you may have seen the following comedy video floating around the net at some point over the last few years, sometimes under the title "Technical Virgin", a parody of abstinence programs promoting anal sex
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1994546325179027565&q=technical+virgin
I saw this video a couple years ago and laughed at it. Now I've seen hundreds of clips off the internet, and you never expect the people on them to ever go on to do something notable. But the actress who starred in this, Melanie Martinez, actually went on to become the host of a PBS evening kids program entitled The Good Night Show.
And now it seems she alerted (the article says) the network of these videos (which were done SEVEN years ago) - and the Network fired her pretty much on the spot.
That's pretty extreme, wouldn't you say? I mean, yeah, the vid is too risque for pre-schoolers, but they would never have seen it, and PBS is the station that hired George Carlin to play Mr. Conductor! This is a mite bit ridiculous, wouldn't you say?
in any case, here's the article on the matter http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/24/AR2006072400931.html
and if you also find this ridiculous, you can sign a petition at www.technicalvirgin.com
