PC Gaming and TV's

So, I am debating getting back into PC gaming. Next year I’ll have enough to buy a high end rig that can run anything on ultra settings….but I’m still debating if it’s worth it. Mainly what is holding me back is playing games on a monitor. After playing my PS4 on a giant TV I just can’t go back to a tiny monitor. So, I was thinking of hooking up my future PC to my TV but was told that games look ugly on a TV due to the lower resolution.

Is this true? Thoughts?

Run the game at the appropriate resolution and it shouldn't be a problem.

Not true. I've run through a 40 and 60 inch TV and gaming projector. At ultra settings they look miles better than the equivalent console games. Maybe it's something to do with the ways these guys have set up (which did take me a while to get everything right).

As long as you have a full HD television you should be fine.

I've got a 51 nch Samsung 3D Plasma TV that I'm looking forward to trying Batman Arkham Knight on.
