cutting one movie into 3 parts….hope this works this time
As a massive Beatles fan as well as a fan of Peter Jackson, I've been looking forward to this ever since it was first announced. I watched the Let It Be documentary online over a decade ago and it felt like a pretty grim experience apart from the rooftop concert. You could tell that the four of them had had enough. But I'm not getting that vibe here. Of course we'll be seeing some of the conflict between them in this since there was a lot of turmoil in the waning days of the group but this looks to be more of a celebration of the band and how they came together one last time to give the world one last experience of their creativeness as a team.
Side note, I could've sworn I responded to this thread in the past but it's possible there may have been more than one created for this.
I feel like even with all the books and documentaries I've seen on them, there's always something new to learn so I'll definitely check that out.As a fellow massive Beatles fan, I would recommend the Something About The Beatles podcast which has several episodes covering the Let it Be sessions in a honest way without sugarcoating it at all.
It's a great podcast in general covering the Beatles from multiple angles and on multiple levels if you really want a deep dive in The Beatles .
I decided very early to not interview Paul or Ringo or anyone else. I didn't want modern day interviews in this footage. I didn't want that 50 year gap. I wanted everybody to head back to 1969, and be in the room with the Beatles and just let them tell their story. So that was the plan. And that's effectively what we've done.
Yeah I enjoy the music but can’t say I’m a die hard. I was hoping for more interviews or narrative. Seeing them mess around in the studio is cool for the first half hour or so but doesn’t hold my interest for two more sessions.I'm loving this so far but speaking as a massive Beatles fan, I'm not sure how appealing almost 8 hours of fly-on-the-wall footage will be to non-diehards.
