Since the "House of M" story arc a few months ago, he supposedly got de-powered (courtesy of the legendary X-Men writer Chris Claremont: the official Iceman hater). In a few issues later, he was about to be killed by some right-wing mutant haters, and Emma (sensing this event while using Cerebro) mentally turned them back on. In the next issue, it was explained that he got so scared that he'd lose his powers (during the "House of M" story arc) that he "cut them off" (It was reported that Iceman fans started sending hatemail to Marvel because of his de-powering). So he reverted back to his human flesh.
Since then, his powers have been "out of whack", because of Emma's mental tampering, and he hasn't been able to completely control them the way he use to. However, he can change from organic ice to flesh now. By the way, Iceman is NOT in the Astonishing or Uncanny books. Only the regular X-Men book.

Lot's of weird spikes sticking out of him now. It would be okay if they refined them to be sharper, or made him a little bulkier/muscular like Juggernaut. He use to at one time (see Uncanny #300-#302).. After all, he's always had the ability to adjust his size to whatever he wants to.

I was reading an article on AICN (Ain't It Cool News) about a couple of fans that saw the film, and gave their perspective on it, with a few spoilers. And one of them said the film seemed like the "Wolverine show" all over again. However, he did say that Iceman did something "amazing" towards the end of the movie. The fan didn't say what it was, but my guess is that it's him dropping out of the X-Jet, and creating an ice slide out of the clouds above (although I don't think they were dropping from that high an altitude).....

No ice slide in this flick.

Iceman gets out of the x-jet with kitty they go down an kitty phases threw the floor with bobby and bobby says don't do that ever again.
