Pixar's Brave - In Theaters Summer 2012

^^ But Toy Story 3 expresses those feelings of giving up toys in such a great way. That's one of the many things that makes it so damn sad. Giving up on stuff you used to feel as though was all that mattered. It may not be sad ot some, but overall, growing up is hard and looking back on how you were as a child is powerful enough. Then you have these toys that you used to love 24/7 and you just give them up? Not in my book. Toy Story 3 expressed it perfectly, which is one of the reasons I love it so damn much.

I still have toys from when I waas a child that I reufse to sell. Why? Because I hold a connection to them. However, I know that I must give them away some day.

I grew up with toy story aswell but to me it wasn't very sad. Everybody gives up there toys it's natural. Now if the toys were burned at the end then I would break down but it just didn't seem sad at the end it just seemed like growing closure. You had fun but now it's time to just move on and put away childish things.

It isn't the act of giving up toys, but what it symbolizes. It is the first "death" of the human soul. A part of one's life they can never go back to.

i prefer Dragons over toy story 3 any day

Me too, I also feel like if HTTYD was released by pixar (with same script and execution) people would be more willing to note its superiorness because it has the Pixar name. Toy Story 3 was the same thing we had seen before 'Toys get lost, Toys have to find a way back to Andy while learning some type of lesson, Toys must overcome some sort of villain, Toys narrowly make it back in time' only this time Andy gave the toys away. It was supposed to be emotional but it just didnt do it for me, it was a good movie but predictable by all means and I dont think it should have had a best picture nomination.

The Dragons took a S#*t all over the Toys, IMO.

Now that's a visual burned into my brain.

It's a kids movie. Of course it's predictable in the sense that the good characters win in the end, you know what else was? How To Train Your Dragon.

something happens at the end to the main character in How to train your dragon. :cwink:

Did I know that Lotso would betray the Toys? Yes.
Did I know that the Toys were still gonna make it back to Andy? Yes.
Did I know that Andy was gonna give the Toys including Woody away in the End? Yes.

Did I know that the reason the Dragons attacked the villiage for food was because they were being forced to? No.
Did I know that only a dragon could find the Island? No.
Did I know that in the end Hiccup and toothless would almost die and Hiccup would
lose part of his leg (in relation to the dragon losing part of his tail earlier)
? No.

Well I guess it didnt bother me much mainly becuase i'm a collector of figure's and I bought updated version of woody and buzz when the figure's are out and I still do have figure's from my child hood that i collected that I wouldnt dare sell, so that makes sense. I still have my casper doll from years ago that i never gave up but I guess that ending didnt affect me much. I dont know why it just seemed like a calm closure to the series.

WOw I didnt look at it that way at all.

The entire film is about the desperate need to hang on.

Watching Andy play with Bonnie is at a level of pure, unadulterated sadness Dreamworks couldn't dream off. Andy is watching as the final bits of his childhood leave him. He is watching what he once was and will never be again.

It isn't the toys. It is the untainted imagination that comes with a child playing with them. The genuine excitement that comes when your toy could be whatever you wanted it to be, without a hint of sarcasm.

The scene is poignant, painful and beautiful.

Did I know Hiccup was going to let the Dragon live? Yep.

Did I know Hiccup and the Dragon would be friends? Yep.

Did I know Hiccup was going to get the girl? Yep.

Did I know the Dragons were going to be misunderstood? Yep.

Not really that hard at all.

Toy Story 3 is such a great film. I grew up with these characters and that last scene is huge to me since im 16 and im growing up and im leaving my childhood.

both are predictable..however toy story, since the first minute, has the exact same formula as its predecesors...

also in Dragons there were plenty of beautiful moments throughout the film... like when he first touches the dragon..

it did not rely on some exxxxxtremellly overdone pixar montage sequence to get emotion... or the in-your-face ending scene with andy reciting poetic wisdom lol

and to be honest the humor in toy story was often a bit juvenile (spanish buzz)..finding nemo was a million times funnier(and adventurous)

i found it annoyin how in the academy awards..toy story was presented with the supid spanish buzz scene..and dragons with the touching dragon scene, and then toy story won lol

I felt Toy Story 3 was emotionally forced and humorously forced. A rip off of the Brave Little Toaster. I knew they were going to the junk yard before I even saw the movie, as it already happened in the Brave Little Toaster! The Pink bear has the same issues as the bad guy in Toy Story 3. There's not much of a plot, the toys go to day care and then break out to return home, and before the return home they get away from a overly, forced, manipulative montage that they are going to die and *bam* sorry folks it's not going to happen, we manipulated all of you thinking they were going to die! The whole time I was thinking no they are not, I'm not going down that road only to be swiftly taken out of it, to allow myself to be sucked into this deliberate moment of manipulation. This is not how they are going to end this kids movie. I never for a second believed Pixar would allow their beloved characters to all go out in such a serious adult moment. People would of left the theater slitting their wrists. It's a kids movie they wouldn't dare do that, you were all manipulated who were crying at that moment, thinking it would happen. That they are going to die is way to serious for a kids film. But the Academy and all those to full of themselves (critics) loved it!

1. Im pretty sure that the poster for the movie gave that away.

2. Im pretty sure that the poster for the movie gave that away too.

3. Yes predictable that was.

4. As I said pretty sure the poster gave that away. And there was still plenty of story to explore and enjoy.

At the end of the day its like xwolverine2 said Toy Story 3 follows a formula (as most movies do) and that wouldn't be a problem only you have 2 Toy Story movies before it that follow the same formula. And then you have something like How to Train Your Dragon where its just as beautifully directed with plot points and a ending that you do not see coming. Give me the more original one anyday.

^ Yes I guess we have gone too far from the subject! The stills from the movie look great I love how the heroine isnt the most beautiful in the land I think thats going to help her be more relatable to kids. Pixar's return to original stories is very much welcome they should've never stopped for less than amazing sequels.

The design and the animation looks stunning. This is going to be amazing.

Looks okay but I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't make her look a little bit more realistic and less like a South Park character. I know it's animation but still... I wish they'd try a little harder to make people look like people.

I'd say she looks more strawberry shortcake than south park but honestly the animation looks fantastic as always. I'd like to know what the story is about.

Her hair and the setting are the things that blow me away. The lighting of everything. Astounding.

In every movie thread, there always have to be people with the"I prefer this over that any day"mentality huh?Why not enjoy BOTH or ALL types instead of picking just 1??When all of these type of films could be enjoyed on there own!

Anyways,Teaser is kinda interesting!
