I just saw an ad saying it is on tonight. Glad I saw it, because I thought it was still like 3 weeks away. I would have been pissed if I missed it. From everything I've heard, this is to nature shows what the Sopranos was to crime dramas.

I'll catch the DVD,let me know how it was.

It was pretty amazing. Sigourney Weaver has a great voice for a nature narrator, and the Discovery HD on my big screen made me slobber. It makes you think that I'm pretty much never going to see most of those animals close up in real life, that's about as good as it's going to get.

is this the same planet earth that was on the UK with david attenborough only replaced with weaver's narration

I have the DVD of this, the UK version. It is amazing

I can't believed they replaced Attenborough. He's THE nature show host.

I'm sure Attenbrough was great, but I actually think Sigourney's voice matches really well with the subject matter. Maybe because she played intellectuals in Ghostbusters and Alien, but her voice is calming and sounds pretty intelligent to me. She had some good lines too.

I like to think of it as a "Mother Earth" vibe they were going for in choosing a woman.

Last night's episodes were quite good again. I couldn't even begin to pick one episode as my favorite, although a bunch of scenes have stood out so far. I hope this show gets proper consideration for awards.

I've got this ordered on HD DVD. I'm not normally one to watch wildlife/nature type shows, but all the buzz I've heard about this combined with the awesome trailer shown for this on Amazon.com has me very very excited to see this...and in High-Def! :D

Have you seen attenbrough? he's been doing nature documentaries for decades- he goes to these countries and is with the animals. So ghostbusters really doesn't cut it in my book:o

I want to watch it so bad, I think theres another showing on the Science Channel comming up soon

Awesome show. I mainly catch a few eps on ONDEMAND. I'm a real nature fanatic anyway. I also love Man Vs Wild.

I went to an advance screening of "Perfect Stranger" and the theater was giving out free Limited Sneak-Preview DVD's. :yay:  It came with a seedling disc that you put in soil and water to grow wildflowers.

I've recorded each episode on S-VHS so far. I love that they got Sigourney Weaver to narrate it, that makes it like 200 times more interesting than it already is.

I'm going to be pretty sad when the series is over. It has been so enjoyable. It makes my Sunday nights.

I've really enjoyed the job Sigourney has done. I don't know if Attenborough lived with the animals or what, but I don't think you need that to be a good nature show documentary narrator.

I think anyone who listens to Sigourney with an open mind would say she did a fine job.

Love the ep where the Polar Bear is attacking that herd of Walrus's. The Walrus hide's are so thick neither the Polar Bears claws not teeth could penetrate it's skin. The Polar Bear died from all the tusks punctures he recieved during his attacks. Sad. But that's nature.

i'm just reacting against the big hollywood star fad. Is it really necessary for such a great show? It seems like a cry for ratings

I really hope they start reairing this show immediately because I missed most of it!
