it's one of my favorite books. i've read it 3-4 times over the years and i am actually pleased with the film although i wish more stuff would have made it into the final film.

was glad to see at least one of those scenes was a deleted scene though.

I'm watching it now. One of my friends is a good friend of Erza Miller, too.

Summer 1988 revisited! Today I picked up:

Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Willow

Also picked up Life of Pi. :yay:

How does willow hold-up? and how are the special features and the transfer?

I'm thinking on buying it.

I got the hobbit on blu-ray

and Zero dark thirty also on blu.

Get it! I just finished watching it, and it looks great. Obviously, the special effects are a little dated now, but the movie is still really awesome. I hadn't seen it ages, and I'd almost forgotten how much I enjoyed this movie.

The True Story of Wrestlemania

The Terminator ( remastered)

Who Framed Roger Rabbit 25th Anniversary

I didn't see Willow or Westworld in stores this past week. I guess it's time to do some Amazon orders.

This is a great cover.

Yeah, sometimes the studios use some pretty ugly covers for their Blu-ray releases, but this one is just about perfect.

Sometimes Amazon ships movies a few days late, but other times like in the case of Willow and Westworld, they send them out a bit early.

Agreed. I love the Willow cover art. I'm still amazed at how well the movie has held up. I was afraid the effects would be too far dated (Ron Howard referred to them as "quaint" on the extras), but they've aged fairly well and it was like watching a classic lost art from iinstead. And the movie was just a blast to watch again.

I can't wait to watch it. Probably going to pop it in the player tonight, but I have so many other films I need to get to. I still remember seeing Willow in the theater with a few of my childhood friends, such a fun movie.

Me too! I remember the theater was totally sold out and the audience was really into it, which made it even more fun.

Other recent DVD purchases for me were the first two seasons of The Mary Tyler Moore Show. I loved watching reruns on TV, and after talking about the show with a friend, I decided to pick up the DVDs and watch them from the beginning.

I'm halfway through Season 2 now, I love it. Even though it's from the 70s, it's really the precursor to the stuff you see Tina Fey and Amy Poehler doing now, and the comedy still works.

I just can't believe it took them this long to release this on Blu-ray. At least we have it now.:woot:

Great cover for a great movie! One of Yul's best, the ancestor of The Terminator:woot: (I think Arnold mentioned this as an influence.)

I was excited last year when I read that they were giving it a Blu-ray release. I've seen this movie so many times, I love it!

You're right I got it and it looks stunning, I had forgotten how much fun this movie was. I remember watching it in the theater when I was about 7 and being blown away. This is kinda the precursor to fellowship of the ring!

Now I didn't want to create a new thread just for this so I'll just start here since this is the blu-ray thread. Which movies would you guys want to see get the blu-ray treatment next. I'll be updating this post with more titles.

For me

Munich(a new transfer supervised by spielberg and his DP with new special features) I just love the movie so much.

Tales from the crypt presents: Demon Knight(A weird choice for some but it is a great guilty pleasure of mine and I think is really underated) I want a good transfer and a full making of doc with a focus on the great creature effects, the demon suits, animatronics, prosthetic make-up etc.
