Just got Star Trek The Next Generation Season 1 on Blu-ray.

Honestly this is one of the best blu-ray releases period. I have all of DS9 and TNG on DVD, all the movies and the TOS on blu-ray. Now I can't wait to get DS9 and the rest of TNG on Blu-ray.

There are transfers and then there are transfers. Season 1 of TNG was always weak, but with how much they fixed up everything the show feels like it was made yesterday. The remastered SFX that was beyond terrible at times (especially in the first two seasons) are up to par with SFX of today. The specials are incredible, and really give you an in depth look of the series. Season 2 is slated for November so I can't wait for that.

Everyone said bringing this and DS9 to blu-ray would be impossible, and never look that good, boy they proved them beyond wrong. This remastered edition shows how much love Trek fans put into these shows. Bring on the rest of the series, and bring on DS9 to blu as well.

But a must buy, it is only 60 bucks at Best Buy/Amazon right now. Worth every penny.

UPDATE:

Lawrence of Arabia is coming to the U.S. on November 13th, here is the updated look of what we will get in the U.S.

They just announced this, but no date as of yet, most figure this June for the 50th anniversary. I will buy the CE day one. One of my favorite films.
