Predator: Hunting Grounds (PS4 and PC)

It's cool Arnold returned to voice him I guess.

I mean, this isn't a AAA game. They have to focus their resources.

I honestly don't think that particular developer has a full-time AI scripter on staff. That's why a lot of these games don't have single player. The AI that is in this is really bad and the AI that was in Friday the 13ths single player updates was also laughably bad.
I realize that but even AAA game developers has been short changing single player for years. It isn't that this particular game is multiplayer only, it is that it continues a growing trend of ignoring single player games so they can upsell more DLC and nickel and dime purchases off players who want a competitive or asethetic advantage against other players.

There has not been a good single player Predator game for so, so long. The last halfway decent one was probably Aliens vs Predator 2.

You make it seem like it's whatever but this is awesome and pretty big even if just returning to voice the character

Maybe its the nostalgia but AvP2 was ****ing awesome.

AVP2 was great and nearly 20 years ago. That's how long it has been since there was a good Predator game. At least Alien had Isolation a few years back.

I could never finish the Marine campaign in AvP2... That's how much the game scared me back then. :hehe:

Though, the online multiplayer was awesome. Loved playing the Aliens and raiding Marine camps in one of the modes.

I played the multiplayer of AVP2 right up until they shut the servers down. There are still some private servers going on but I haven't ventured onto them. That was also a great example of a single player/multiplayer game done right. The expansion, not so much.

I liked the 2010 Alien vs Predator game. Not necessarily a great game like the old ones but still fun! I didn't regret getting it on day one unlike Alien: Colonial Marines

Same with Predator: Concrete Jungle. I've been wanting a remake, remaster or sequel to that game for years. This one doesn't seem like a top quality game either but does look fun to play for a while in small doses like Friday the 13th is

Some movie monsters just don't make for good games.

I have played the 2010 AVP and it was okay but it felt lackluster compared to AVP2 in all 3 scenarios. I never played Concrete Jungle but the critical reviews for it were bad and the user ratings mediocre.

They can with the right format and game studio behind them. The problem I think is how badly mismanaged the franchise has been. Fox has a tendency to take good franchises and ruin them, regardless of media format.

Speaking of which, The Thing was recently on TV and it reminded me of the game back in the 2000s. It was actually pretty decent.

There's a game based on The Thing? How did I never find out?

A very good one at that. I still have my copy of it. Going to replay that someday.

The flamethrower was a lot of fun. :D Just watched some gameplay footage to get old memories back and I don't remember the squad system...

Another game from that era, Freedom Fighters, had a great squad gameplay mechanic. Now I'm just going off-topic... :hehe:

I will say, this Dutch design has me interested in him returning to the big screen.

I listened the Dutch tapes. It was great to hear Arnold as the character again and I liked the direction they went with the story. Also I liked that he talked about the events of Predator 2.

There was something special about the original cast. Are they still alive/healthy enough to come back?

Most of the characters died in the first movie so they can't really come back. Would be great to see Dutch and Harrigan together in a movie.

Oh, that’s a good point. :D
