Predict the next wave of animated DC films!

Every year they announce the upcoming animated DC films at SDCC, and SDCC is right around the corner! So predict the next wave!

Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy both teased Hush and Death in the Family. I would love to see both of those. Of the two, I think Hush would make a better movie.

I'm hoping for Knightfall or Kingdom Come personally, but I don't know how likely they are.

Batman and more Batman, honestly I'm tired of it. Haven't bought an animated film for ages cause I'm fed up with them doing Batman films.

I get where you're coming from. But there are so many more iconic Batman stories that still deserve the animated treatment.

I want Kingdom Come too though.

Outside of Batman, we need some Sandman and more Green Lantern. A JSA/JLA film would be cool too.

The tpb's later repackaged Batgirl: Year One and Robin: Year One together. Maybe an animated movie could be a double feature. I think Robin: Year One is a stronger story.

Before characters and teams have been used in live-action movies, WB/DC have had them appear on TV shows, video games and in animated movies first, to see the reception to them and to make more people aware of them. Deadshot, Boomerang, and the Suicide Squad had an animated movie and appeared on Arrow (Katana also appeared on Arrow) before their live-action movie, Deathstroke appeared on Smallville, Arkham Origins and Knight, Arrow, Injustice and Son of Batman before having an actor cast to play the character in the DCEU.

With Batgirl appearing in an upcoming movie, perhaps they will have her appear in her own animated movie too.

They def could. I just remember it was originally in development way back like Judas Contract and never got made. With Judas Contract eventually getting made, I could see this one coming back especially with a movie in the pipeline

I don't like how DC is adapting classic stories but incorporating them into their shared continuity. Just do standalone movies if youre adapting classic stories.

TDKR was perfect. As was All Star Superman. If those weren't self contained they wouldn't be as good.

Agreed. I liked Judah's Contract more than their recent offerings and thought it was pretty solid overall but I'd prefer a more faithful adaptation

Since we've gotten to the point where we have actual continuity between films and essentially their own little universe, I really need them to give WW a makeover in both looks/personality

I have a feeling we are going to start seeing movies featuring characters like Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Supergirl, Batgirl. There is already a Batman - Harley Quinn movie coming out.

I'd love it if they did a Catwoman film! Itd pave the way for another live action film just like Assault on Arkham.

Supergirl has honestly gotten a lot of attention in the dtvs. Superman: Unbound and Batman/Superman: Apocalypse both featured her pretty prominently.

Wonder Woman '09 had a sequel tease that was never followed up on. I'd like a Wonder Woman vs Cheetah or Circe movie.

My guess is if they do a Batgirl movie, it'd be Year One considering that's her main story.

They were going to do a Y1 before cancelling it due to "low" WW sales (bs btw). But I sadly think that they consider Killing Joke as a sort of Y1 take on Batgirl.

If they do a Batgirl movie, it'd be a continuation of Batman: Bad Blood.

I could see Aquaman getting some films leading up to his live action movie and more if it's a hit

I doubt it. If they didn't do it with WW they most likely wont do it with Aquaman. They were going to do a solo dtv in the past but were denied by higher ups.

They're also just not interested in doing character solos given even the Batman stuff has to have the other characters get substantial focus.

Yeah that's about the only way. If it isn't through Batman or JL, solos aren't happening.
