Premiere's Top 20 Most Overrated Films of All Time

I agree with numbers 1 (AMERICAN BEAUTY is, IMO, a terrible film), 5, 8, 11, 15, 16, and 20 (GONE WITH THE WIND would probably be my #1 - I think that movie gets far more love than it remotely deserves).
 
Wow, that is quite an inflammatory list, I can only agree with maybe two, but that is only slightly. Crash should be on that list.

Scarface just has a cult following, it really wasn't as well received critically as people seem to think it was.
 
Maybe POTC, but Batman Begins? That isn't overhyped to me cause I never hear about that movie at all, unless i'm on the Batman board here.
 
Eh, while movies like American Beauty, Chicago, and A Beautiful Mind won Oscars, they're hardly very well-loved films. I agree with a few picks o nthe list, but overall, it doesn't seem to be that great, IMO. Especially since they had the audacity to put Wizard of Oz on it. :o
 
The Wizard Of Oz is a fantasy classic and thats my only real dissagreement.
 
Like eight of those are from the '90's and the past six years. There's plenty more overrated movies in other decades, Premiere:spidey:.

clerks wasn;t over hyped or anything....it was what it said it was....two guys *****ing about life in B&W....by the guy who made mallrats:o

and most of the movies on there are utter ****e, a beautiful mind, good will hunting, etc...all ****e:cmad:

Hype as in the reaction the movie got and what people think, not how they advertised the actual film. Besides, if they advertised Clerks by saying it's by the guy who made Mallrats, that'd be an incredible feat since Mallrats came out after Clerks.

thats how it was sold to me...i watched mallrats, liked it got told about clerks, watched it, liked it...
 
THe problem with these lists is there usually made just to offend people or it simply inspired choices. I say bah to this list... Hell I don't like Wizard of Oz but I can see it's relavence.

I would have to agree with most of that list, and allow the rest of it out of spite.
 
I'd have to list "Premiere" on my list of Most Overrated Movie/Entertainment Magazines! :down
 
i don't agree with that list at all.....because they forgot titanic
