Synopsis
Batman (Val Kilmer) faces off against two foes: the schizophrenic, horribly scarred former District Attorney Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones), and the Riddler (Jim Carrey), a disgruntled ex-Wayne Enterprises inventor seeking revenge against his former employer by unleashing his brain-sucking weapon on Gotham City's residents. As the caped crusader also deals with tortured memories of his parents' murder, he has a new romance, with psychologist Chase Meridian (Nicole Kidman).
Intention
To reflect the original vision by the late Joel Schumacher as closely as possible while also taking a few creative liberties. Taking creative notes from the October 13th, 1994 draft by Akiva Goldsman, the 1995-02-07 continuity list and the comic book adaptation by Dennis O'Neil, this reconstructed version of the 1995 nostalgic smash hit features an entirely new aesthetic using LUTs by the excellent Triune Digital, Danny Elfman's original score from various films and select cues by Shirley Walker, deleted footage restored wherever possible, and a much darker, more serious storyline that harkens back to the BurtonVerse.
Technical Specs
- 1080p HD
- 1.85:1 widescreen format
- Newly remastered 5.1 surround sound
