PS3 Price Cut CONFIRMED

I'm guessing a $100.00 - $150.00 drop. Anything less will still make the Playstation 3 look uncompetitive.

damn if it was 150 i'll sooooo buy it. im thinking about buying a 360, but microsoft aint going to drop the price,so i dont mind throwing another 50 bones in there(especially with freeonline gaming).

Personally I think the price drop might eb anywhere from 75 - 150 dollars. 75 because I can see them not wanting to lose too much money, but anything below 75 dollars would be seen as a not enough of a price drop and merely a guesture. I could see them lowering the price to 100 dollar, bringing the 60 gig in line with the price of the late 20 gig model and making it cost pretty much the same as the 360 Elite which is the new Xbox model everyone wants anyway.

If their cost control is even better then anyone think it is I could see them going 150, making it cheaper then the Xbox 350 elite just as a lot of great games are coming out for it. Sure it would be desperate but it might also be necessary for them. I don't believe the PS3 will fail at 600 dollars right now but it will have no hope of being anythign but third place at that price. Droppign it by 150 dollas might be a way to simultaniously get thaem back in the console sapce more, but also keep the pressure on against HD-DVD. Making the PS3 again the cheapest BR player on the market.

Microsoft will announce a price cut right after the Sony announces theirs. No doubt about it. Sony will lead the price cuts this gen and Microsoft will just respond to them.

There's no point in Microsoft having a price cut right now. But if Sony dropped the price by $100.00 - $150.00 and with games such as Lair, Heavenly Sword, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, along with sharing Xbox 360 games such as Devil May Cry 4, Virtua Fighter 5, and Grand Theft Auto IV; consumers would be much more willing to flush an extra $50.00 - $100.00 for something that now has a games library, has a bigger hard drive, and a blu-ray DVD player.

Microsoft will no doubt see this an announce a price cut in reaction.

Dude only an idiot buys the core Xbox 360. And only the hardcore person is going to buy the Elite model. The Playstation 3 needs to compete with the Premium Xbox 360.

and you do know that if you buy the Xbox Core and the hard drive seperately, it costs the same? Actually more since you wont be getting a wireless controller, an HDMI port with cable and the headset

Dude only an idiot buys the core Xbox 360. And only the hardcore person is going to buy the Elite model.

Everyone else will buy the premium 360, then go on the internet and buy a black case for their 360 and black controller cases.
