Sorry to create a new topic about this but the old one is sorta dead now; so, I thought I'd revitalize it by creating a new one. It could be like a little sub topic.

Note: this data is by vgchartz. I KNOW that a lot of Xbox dudes are going to come on here and try to discredit the sales based on the source, but it's worth posting anyway just to get....idunno...a rough figure, perhaps?

http://vgchartz.com/weekly.php

DS 426,492
Wii 228,542
PSP 137,515
PS3 109,067
360 56,779

Woohoo, PSP, you're finally doing well and giving me my money's worth!

I'm sorry, when I find PS2's numbers I will post them. But it might even be higher than the Wiis since PS2 averages around 270,000-290,000.

Oh, and here is an article. Basically, it states that Sony will be third until mid March (which we knew) and Wii will continue to do very very very well.

I still dont understand where the hell those Wii numbers are coming from bc I never see the system anywhere and people are still complaining that its rare, yet they have been #1 for months

That's why. People snag 'em as soon as they come. I've only seen one Wii in my entire life....in my friends dorm room. Never seen it at a store.

I'd wait for the NPD numbers. They are often much more accurate. They'll probably be released some time soon anyways, I think.

Thursday next week. If memory serves.

I thought the PS3 had had a large increase in sales. Those figures don't reflect it.

PS3 has been doing well compared to xbox 360...PS3 finally has some good stuff being released this year, of course so does the 360,intresting to see who'll win this years "holiday" sales this year,I'll say it'll be the wii,ps3 and 360 in that order.

I believe last week it sold around 40,000 in Japan and Hot Shots Golf 5 was the number 2 title that week, so that's a nice increase there

Not this holiday. It'll be Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3. The only reason why the Xbox 360 would be ahead of the Playstation 3 in holiday sales is simply because of Halo 3.

Exactly. Sony admitted as much. The real fireworks will go off Christmas of '08. The playing field will be leveled and where will Microsoft be without Halo, the Wii without Smash Bros, and the PS3 without MGS4?

On a side note, what is honestly coming out next year for Microsoft? Like, big AAA titles? I MIGHT get it for Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Halo 3 (Eternal Sonata meh. Not over the FF versus XIII and FFXIII, which basically looks CG). Karraker thinks Sony will be pushing its way through the breach come Q4 next year. Home and all that will be released. The Wii, for all we know, might start to decline. You never know. The WiiFit doesn't seem like the sort of thing that will drive sales over a long period of time. They gotta keep churning out more good software. Their lineup this year is honestly staggering. Smash Bros, Metroid, and Mario. LOL we never stood a chance!

What I find annoying is that one analysist claims that over third of game sales will be Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Madden NFL 2008. But they tend to forget that the Wii install base is almost as big as the Xbox 360's. And that even though Grand Theft Auto IV and Madden NFL 2008s' multiplatform base will boost sales, they're forgetting that Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy will be huge sellers also. Plus Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are still huge sellers for the DS and the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass will be big too.

Microsoft has Alan Wake, most likely Halo Wars, and Too Human for the time being. Nowhere near as huge as 2007 with Halo 3, Bioshock, and Mass Effect if you ask me. I'm definetely curious to see how 2008 will turn out.

Interestingly enough, I don't think Nintendo had to barrage us this year with their blockbusters. Spread it out a little more. Sales are still strong, you don't need to have all of these grand slams this close to each other. With Microsoft, I feel as though it would be the most beneficial to just go all out this fall. With this warranty mess and mystery Microsoft employees pulling out on stock options before big losses and all, they need to bring out the Falcon (which they will). I still don't know why we aren't getting a recall. Every system out there could potentially be affected, so minimize the damage. I've actually heard now about people getting 4 red lights and dudes on their sixth one. Once they fix all that, they should be sick this year.

Sony....SURVIVE. JUST...SURVIVE. Make it through this year and things should start to look up. Honestly, if Microsoft destroys them this year, it might be the end. You can't go on 2 years and still have dozens of developers shaking their heads at how you're doing business. If MGS4 and FFXIII go multiplat, I quit.

Just imagine what Nintendo is going to deliver in 2008 though. If 2007 brought us Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, just imagine what they'll do for 2008. Already in early 2008 we'll be getting Mario Kart. Hopefully we'll see what Snatcher will look like for the Wii and hopefully it will make it in 2008. Animal Crossing will get a another game in 2008 for the Wii. And I'd love to see another fun Mario sports title. Just wait for Nintendo to announce some more games before thinking that they've run out of everything.

On the contrary, I'm saying that nothing is stopping the Wii machine this fall, so, you can maximize sales even more by building anticipation for next year. See, Sony is doing that but IMO it's the wrong move because we need games right now from them. Like, RIGHT NOW. We need MGS4 today, Killzone 2 tomorrow and GT5 the next day. They keep babbling about what they're going to do in the future when they haven't proven themselves in the present.

Sure, there's a lot of good games this year. Don't got a Halo though. I think Unreal could sell more than Mass Effect and Bioshock though.

Wait, I take that back. User base isn't large enough yet. But maybe it will be. We shall see.
