Would you like Spider-Man any less if his webbing had always been organic?

No. If he had always had organics, we would see that as perfectly natural. But since he had mechanical webshooters, turning organic seemed strange to us. At least its better than the "web gun" idea that Stan and Steve first kicked around.

no. For me it was never an issue. I think the only thing you loose by switching from mechanical to organic is that plot device of "Oh man I'm running out of web fluid" who gets very tiring after some time (at least that's my opinion)

(if I can think of something really stupid and who didnt' make much sense it was the "organic stingers" from the Other...)

Alright, there are 2 sides to this

akwardness and capability

the webshooters are ultimately a way of showing off peter parker's genius ability to manufacture something completely brilliant out of nothing. It also showcases his ability to put the commercial gains of the device to one side and do what he believes is responsible (when quite possibly the money he would get would help his immediate family which could be also deemed as responsible). I think somewhere deep down he knows this but his guilty actions won't let him accept it and he believes the path he has taken is the best one to redemption.

If there were no webshooters, then he would need something to fill this void in the character.

Secondly, they are a plot device, they need refilling, updating, higlighting, evolution. they are also cumbersome and need hiding. So this part of the character would also need some filling with organics. Saying this, I'm all up for the variety in his diet causing differences to his webbing consistency, how full they end up, their additional properties. Infact, he could purposely cut something out of his diet to stop being spiderman or someone could 'poison' his diet to cut a vitamin combo to make the organics naturally (as well as maybe his other powers)

So as long as those character values could be replaced, I really don't give a monkeys whether they are organics or mechanicals. Just don't change them and leave the void. Replace it with something else to re-establish equilibrium and maybe enhance the character.

I neither dislike the mechanical webshooters nor the organics. Both have advantages & disadvantages. He can upgrade the artificial fluid to meet varying needs. He can build additional things into the devices like the impact pellets & stingers. The artificial webbing has a versatility that the natural silk may or may not have. But the damn things run out at the most inopportune times, & he's often not in a position to replace the cartridges. They can be taken away & disabled. Either way it's imperfect.

No. i would just be used to it just like I'm used to the webshooters. I equally like both the organic and webshooters. I'm just more used to the webshooters since Stan originally wrote him like that. But if Stan gave him organic webs, then we would be used to that as we are with the webshooters now...

No, he's still Spider-man nonetheless. There are other ways of showing off his brainiess.
