OK, so the wife moved out and now I have the chance to make on of my rooms into a collectibles room! I'm not really done, as there are little bits and pieces to do, but here's some of the books I'm most proud of- I need more room to display them!

So whatcha think?

That's a good question! I guess I'd start with taking down the wallpaper, maybe prime the room and go with earthy, close to neutral tones for the walls. If my assumption is correct and those are windows, I might recommend starting over with the trim entirely. Home Depot has some pretty sweet patterns of trim, but if you're going to have the main focus of the room be the wall, I'd go with something a little more agreeable, something with little-to-no etchings or patterns at all, and just sand those down, hit 'em with some primer, and splash a nice complimentary color on them. Once again, don't make the window trim more eye-catching than the wall color, which should, itself, be pretty neutral.

And if you're worried about sunlight damaging your centerpiece there, you might want to consider perhaps something akin to "blinders" along the sides of your piece, I'd say probably at least half the length of the width of a Silver Age comic book (standard SA comic width being 7 & 1/8th inch wide). Or, if you're really not interested in going crazy with the buzz saw, I'd get a new fixture for some new curtains (complimentary colors in relation to your trim and walls) and maybe just get a cheap set of blinds, which will do the same job of protecting your eye-catching, conversation-inducing investment.

I guess that's what I'd do. Oh. Did you mean what do we think of the comics? 'Cause those are freaking awesome.

An original copy of Amazing Spider-Man #3. I'm so jealous.

That's a great collection, though

Very nice collection. Good job with the ASM 14 and 120. They must have cost you a pretty penny.

Thanks guys- I got very lucky on some of the purchases. You might have seen my other thread where I mention that the AF15 belonged to Kurt Busiek, which is kind of cool.

As far as the wallpaper goes, I'm not sure about that- just real glad to have the room to organize things. The black fabric over the windows is for protection and there's a set of Spidey curtains that'll go over that so it doesn't look quite so drab. The window trim stays the way it is- it's a 300 year old house and that was the style I want to maintain.

I only wish I had room to display the rest of my silver age Spideys- I have most of them up until Ditko left (38) and quite a few on up to present day. The ones in the pic are what I consider to be my cream of the crop.

Thanks for the nice words guys- I have some pix of the room as it stand now with all the toys, etc. Is it worth it for me to post these for you? If so, I promise to resize
