heh, you should've seen how confused I was by (sic) as a little kid.
I'd usually see it used while quoting an evil person, so it'd be like:

Billy Carter wrote back, "You tried my Negro Stew yet'n'whatnaht?"(sic)
and I'd think, "Yeah,...that, is sick, but why do writers always spell it wrong in every single magazine? :huh: X 10"

That used to confuse me too. What does it actually stand for, "Spelling in Context" or something?
