I would like to know which is considered the best score in a Spider-man film.

Zimmer.

Imho Horner's and Elfman's scores 'enhance' their respective movies but Zimmer's score elevate the movie. It's truly phenomenal, when I watch the trailer and the Electro score kicks in I get goose bumps, no Spider-Man score has had that effect on me.

I know it sounds dumb but I'm a big fan of James Horner's score. It just felt so light, and I loved the softer nature of his score.

Zimmer has some absolute beauties, but I prefer TASM soundtrack slightly more over the TASM2 one.

I have bought the soundtrack from iTunes and i have listened to it. I really loved it, but i'm going to have to see the movie first and judge how well it is used before i vote on this poll.

Elfman. It's one of my favorites ever.

Horner was good overall.

Zimmer's theme sucks a lot, but the rest of it is pretty good except "He lied to me he hated me he shot at me." I feel he didn't exact give that soundtrack his all. It is nowhere near the level of great as Batman's.

Elfman wins.

Elfman's is fantastic and a classic.

Horner's is complete crap. I'm glad they ditched him for the sequel.

I'm going to wait to hear Zimmer's stuff when the movie is released.

Probably my favourites from each one;

Elfmans;

Horner's

[YT]/watch?v=po0eCY84CcU&list=PLAC69EE706A952139[/YT]

Zimmer's

[YT]/watch?v=IR-afqCcgAs[/YT]

or song for zula but that isn't his

Actually listening to all the soundtracks again I've got to say Elfman has that "soft" feel that I really like. It's hard to explain. Naturally all 3 come up with some absolute masterpieces, they are all fantastic at their craft and brought their respective films to life.

Elfman's.

Zimmer's score was such a huge letdown.

Zimmer had his moments I though Joker, got to agree that parts here and there were a little bit iffy though

This is a hard one, because I like all three directions. Elfman has the best theme, no doubt. 'Costume Montage' and 'He's Back' are great. Horner has a decent theme too, but has the better soul with stuff like 'The Briefcase' and 'The Ganali Device'. Zimmer's the one who really captured the character's age with stuff like 'Cold War', plus he had the emotive content as well ala 'You're My Boy'.

I'm to hard on Elfman but the main reason is when SM1 was coming out I was expecting a classic 'theme' (like Superman) and when there wasn't one I was apoplectic with rage and I've never forgiven him.

#1 Danny Elfmn
#2 James Horner
#3 Hanz Zimmer

I like Zimmers main theme though

You left off Christopher Young, who scored Spider-Man 3.

Chris wrote the best, then Elfman (though he gets a ton of props for the themes), then Horner, then Zimmer.

I love Horner too,its kinda softy like you said.

My favorites tracks is Becoming Spiderman,Rooftop Kiss, Saving New York, I Can't see you anymore and Promises.

What is funny while the Elfman theme is not in the same ballpark as his Batman theme, or the Williams Superman theme, in comparison it feels that way to the newer scores. There is an epic quality that soars to Elfman's, as well as that lone noble horn Even the romance theme is pretty wistful and catchy.

In comparison, the newer ones are quite bland. And this is a huge letdown on the part of Zimmer, because for Batman and Superman, he reinvented their sounds in credible and memorable ways.

Disagree. Zimmer gave him a youthful vibe which I liked.

I can almost guarantee that in two more years that we will have a new composer or Zimmer will do a new theme. Seriously, to me it is Horner all over again, blandness that fans who like the movie defend. Sony wants a musical iconography for this new franchise, and so far none have captured the sense of awe, wonder, and bittersweet longing that Elfman brought to the previous trilogy. Zimmer's Spidey score reminds me of all the X-Men scores and Horner's last effort--serviceable, but forgettable. That is why those all get changed out so much.

It is still a wait for them to top that.

I think the Zimmer theme works brilliantly in the action sequences, and in the guitar riffs. I love the ending of 'Still Crazy'. As an album listening experience, it's probably my favourite of the live action scores.

I need to see the amazing spider man 2 again or listen to the soundtrack before I can say for sure but danny has by far the best spider man theme but I loved zans music in the movie like the still crazy and electors music and everthing else but don't care for the spider man theme. Horner by far the worsed the whole soundtrack was medicoer other then the song when spider man is using the crans.

Elfman's.

Zimmer's score was such a huge letdown.

Agreed. It was barely there at all, and when it was, it was jarring.

I hated the bit from the beginning as he was free-falling. Sounded like a game show or infomercial accompaniment.

Spot on. I don't know what Zimmer was doing this time around, he usually brings his A-game. I didn't like Man of Steel, and it always felt to me like he was about the only person in the production who put forth any effort.

The score here was very generic throughout; I wouldn't even know it was him if I was never told.
