Don't forget to vote for your top four and only four.

1. ALIEN
2. ALIENS
3. ALIEN 3

Every other movie is not worth the 4th spot.

Ripley films in order of their release. From best to worst.

Love all three equally, always did. The first one is a master of horror, the second absolute master of unbearable tension and buildup, and the third is a great, nihilistic drama

Alien
Aliens
Alien Resurrection
Prometheus

I've only seen Alien, Aliens, and Covenant. I'd rank them in that order.

1.Aliens
2.Alien
3.Alien: Covenant
4.Prometheus

I can only vote for three as I only legitimately like three of them;

Aliens
Alien
Alien 3

Aliens
Alien

all the rest....meh.

I still haven't watch Covenant.
Alien 3 has a great cinematography, solid direction and acting....but it has a lousy script.
Prometheus was ridiculous in wanting to make the Alien franchise about human origins.
Both AVP are crap.

I only watched Ressurection once, back in 97 (20 years ago), so, i don't remember all that much to be able to rank it, but i remember i didn't liked.

As said by others, I could only pick 3.

Alien and Aliens are obvious. Not sure which I prefer. Alien 3's assembly cut is pretty good too. Other than that, I find it hard to care all that much.

Riffing off of this topic... has there ever been a poll on people's 3rd best Alien film? I'd be curious to see what comes out on top nowadays.

According to the poll, it's Alien 3 by a long shot.

After watching ALL of these recently after getting my new Alien Anthology blu rays and dusting off the AvP dvds, before seeing Covenant, here's my top 4

Aliens
Alien
Alien Covenant
AvP

Actually I didn't see Requiem again, saw it at the theaters, then again on dvd, 10 or so years ago, and I still thinks that's one too many times and too soon to watch it again.

Worst to First: Ranking the Alien movies

Having just watched Alien Covenant for the first time yesterday, thought it would be a good time to assess where folks rank the full franchise (am only including, for the 1979 original up to A:C), should you feel you want to include A v P & A v P : Requiem, then please do in your listings.

My order would be :

1) Alien
2) Alien 3 - Director's Cut
3) Alien : Covenant
4) Aliens
5) Prometheus
6) Alien Resurrection

Before people 'jump on me', I hate Aliens, Cameron's sequel for all the reasons people probably love it. It's bombastic, testosterone fuelled nonsense in my book, prefer slower paced Alien films that have horror at their heart, hence the first will, to me, always be superior to the sequel, plus Alien 3 is ridiculously underrated in my book.

Bumping the thread since a similar was started

Sorry, couldn't find in search that we already had a franchise thread for this, please feel free to close this down or leave it to have a natural death as it falls down the page count.

1. Aliens
2. Alien

3. Alien 3

4. AvP (Something had to go 4th )

Aliens
Alien

Don't know how to rate the rest. Kind of liked Prometheus.

Is there any way I can only pick two? In that case:

Aliens
Alien

I used to have Alien higher but Ridley threw away all his goodwill with those recent abominations he's masquerading as Alien films.
