Red Mass for Mars

Hey SHH!ers, a buddy of mine named Ryan Bodenheim has a book coming out from Image this week called Red Mass for Mars. Ryan's done a few miscellaneous issues for Marvel like Wolverine and Black Panther, and this is his first creator-owned project. His pencils are insane, super detailed, and kinda similar to guys like Geoff Darrow and Seth Fisher. It's written by Johnathan Hickman, who wrote Nightly News and Pax Romana. Anyway, it's finally in stores this Wednesday, so do me a favor and flip through it when you see it on the shelf, and hopefully it'll look interesting enough for you to slap down a few bucks for it. Here's a look at some of the art.

You know what?

I did give this book a "look"... and I only did so because of this thread... so your friend can thank you for somebody looking at something that I otherwise would not have given a second look.

Having said that though, I did not purchase the comic for I felt that it wasn't my cup'o tea storywise...



But the art did indeed look nice.

It's cool, thanks for that much Mike. Yeah, the story was pretty out there, it reminded me of some of Warren Ellis' stuff, but weirder. I checked out Hickman's Nightly News, which he also did the art for himself. It's even more strange (minus the sci-f), sort of a modernized V for Vendetta, with more pop art and less romanticism.
