Texted the number and it gave some hints. "Red One" seems to be a code name for Santa (like a government code name type thing) and a group called the E.L.F. Task Force is mentioned. Guessing that's who The Rock and Chris Evans work for.

BINGO! I agree, I really think some of the more recent stuff like Dune and Furiosa have spoiled us. Seeing people whine about standard CGI effects in general in recent previews has me going "Really? You gonna whine about that?"

There's a difference between "obvious CG" and "genuinely bad CG". And even then, yes, I think the glut of stuff Netflix in particular has been dumping out that looks like this has jaded some of us, too. Not everything is "generic Netflix schlock". Sometimes, that's just the marketing being bad.

That also said, it also has a solid crew behind it (in terms of both directing and writing) which gives me hope that it’s just poor marketing rather than a poor film.

Yeah, blame how the trailer frames things. Remember how weird Jumanji Welcome To the Jungle looked from the trailer and it was a damn god movie?

Trailers lie at times. Hell, Frozen's trailers were TERRIBLE.

I thought this was going straight to Amazon Prime, the effects look more like a streaming movie, but I see it cost $250M! Still, I think the concept is great and it looks to have some charm, should be fun, and it's nice to have a new Christmas movie.
