The dystopian love story ‘The Bad Batch has pulled together a cast that would set even stone hearts aflutter. Diego Luna and Suki Waterhouse along with Keanu Reeves and Jim Carrey have joined the Ana Lily Amirpour-directed pic from Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures and VICE. A pretty cool cast and an insanely awesome sounding movie:

“It’s a cannibal love story set in a post-apocalyptic Texan wasteland. There’s going to be muscle men and amputees set against a desert backdrop. I want to shoot anamorphic color and have a look and feel of the ’80s and ’90s with an eclectic soundtrack that’s part techno, part Western, and part ’90s pop.”

Amirpour describes the film as “Mad Max meets Gummo,” indicating that it’s going to be quite an unusual little treat.

“It’s going to be really weird and romantic and also very violent,” she promises.

.......

I've yet to see A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, but I'm really looking forward to this now too.

I hope it's not too violent, or Carrey won't promote it.

This cast isn't random enough yet. Needs Helen Mirren, Eugene Levy and Tyler Perry.

If anyone is looking for a laugh, Amirpour's Twitter is gold. She does not give a **** and it's awesome.

I don't know much about this director, but she seems to make the kind of movies most of the Hypesters here would make if they had the ability to. I think that's a good thing.

Get on it, mane.

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night is a good flick. Take my word. From one OGF brotha to anotha. :oldrazz:

Dude, get on it now! It's great!

It is a pretty great movie. Here's a rambling blog where I gush about it: https://eleventhstack.wordpress.com...ight-and-straight-into-my-movie-loving-heart/

Screen Media Films has acquired U.S. distribution rights to “The Bad Batch,” Ana Lily Amirpour’s follow-up to “A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night.” The deal was negotiated at the Toronto International Film Festival, where “Bad Batch” screened after making its world premiere in Venice just last week.

“We’ve been impressed with Lily as a filmmaker ever since her first film and were blown away by her vision for ‘The Bad Batch.’ We couldn’t pass up the chance to work with her, Annapurna and VICE,” said Seth Needle of Screen Media Films in a statement. Amirpour shared her own enthusiasm, adding that “’The Bad Batch’ is truly a cinematic experience, which needs to be seen on the big screen. It just won’t be the same on a small scale and I’m excited to release it with Screen Media, who totally gets that.”

Suki Waterhouse, Jason Momoa, Giovanni Ribisi and Yolonda Ross star in the film, which also features cameos by Keanu Reeves, Jim Carrey and Diego Luna. “The Bad Batch” is set to be released in the first quarter of 2017.

This looks real interesting.

I'm two ways about it, I really like the director because of A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night so I hope this is good, but I get the feeling this will be some pretentious sh**.

Reactions have been divisive.

Yeah... I wasn't a fan of it. I get what the movie was trying to, but the execution wasn't there.
