I had always assumed that Zoom stole Jay's costume to impersonate him. But, in the episode where we see Zoom's origin. We see that it's his Dad's military uniform. I wonder how they will rectify that. Also, in one if the first episodes with Earth-2 Wells. I could have sworn Wells knew Jay Garrick. Any help would be appreciated.

It's confusing. And based on comments from Berlanti that they would never make Jay Garrick a "baddie" (http://screenrant.com/flash-greg-berlanti-jay-garrick-villain/), I presume that the version of events as told by Zoom and as shown to the audience is false or incomplete. Until we know the entire story, it's going to be hard to try to resolve all of the plot holes and inconsistencies.

I'd guess that E2 Flash's origin story is something like Captain America's: Jay Garrick wants to help protect his country from the South American Nazis during the War of the Americas, but the military won't accept him. He gets his powers from a supersoldier experiment, and his costume is a flashier version of the military uniform. Jay saves a lot of lives, including a certain shell-shocked POW. When the rescued captive gets home and takes out his PTSD on his wife, the son blames the uniform -- the one worn by his dad, and the one worn by the man who brought his dad back -- eventually going on a killing spree against uniforms(*).

(*) Hunter began his reign of terror as Zoom by killing a bunch of police officers, and I think it's likely that his earlier victims (before he gained his powers) also wore uniforms.

If it was a military uniform,
then it stands to reason, that lots of people would be have it.

Perhaps "Real" Jay just modified his own military uniform to have a lightning bolt, etc
and the fact that it looks like Zoloman's father's uniform is entirely coincidental.

I just feel like the rating for this season will rely heavily on the identity of the man in the iron mask, if they can make a really clever thing there it might save this bad logic so far...

It feels needlessly complicated for a villain to be parading around as a hero when he already had all the power and had no challenge... And I am still not buying the whole thing with killing your past and then shrugging it off. I mean in both flash season 1 and legends of tomorrow they are clear that this is not how time works...

Then Reverse-Flash came back as a time remnant, revealing them as an exception and setting up extra Hunter.
