Ok, so I know there are alot of threads asking advice. I am not asking for advice. It's more a discussion thread about how parents deal with relationships.

This springs to mind, because, I RARELY sleep over at my girlfriend's or her. and if I slept round hers. I would be in the cabin, all by myself. I wouldn't be allowed to sleep in a bed with my girlfriend.

We've been dating for just under a year now. We're serious and I couldn't live without her at this very moment in my life (sounds soppy, I know, but true.)

My parents, are ok with her sleeping over and she did sleep over mine once before we went to a festival, but her parents didn't know she slept in a bed with me.

I mean, it's not just this, it's amongst other things. and I don't dislike her parents, I like them very much.

But what do you guys think on ths matter.

Sleep as in sleeping together or sleep as in having fun?

Lee....from a parents point of view.....no parent is happy knowing that their daughter is sleeping with another guy...until they are married (and not real happy then)....so the best way to get along with the parents of your girlfriend is to not rub the fact that you two are sleeping together in any way possible.

It really is up to the parents- it's their house, so you should respect their wishes.

My mother lets my boyfriend stay in the same room/bed as me when we're home from college. She thinks he's awesome, and she isn't naive about the fact that people our age in serious relationships are most likely having sex.

His parents didn't let us sleep in the same room together at first, but for whatever reason they seemed to stop caring about it.

the very first time i stayed over at my woman's house, her dad had me sleep on the floor. the second time, i stayed over the night after she had (nonenvasive) brain surgery. He asked me which I would prefer, the floor or her bed. I, being the respectible guy that I am, said "This is your house and your daughter, you decide where you want me to sleep."

On a similair note, I'm about to graduate college. I will be moving to NYC for an animation job. My woman and I are planning on renting an apartment together. We ARE engaged (i'm 21, shes 25). My parents are thrilled about the engagement, but deadset against us moving intogether.
