I'm not sure how old most of you are, but if your like me and remember when Tim Burton's "Beetlejuice" hit theaters....it was all the rage. From toys to cartoons the Ghost with the Most was EVERYWHERE!
When I was a tike, my aunt got me the talking "head spinning" Beetlejuice doll by Kenner. I took that guy EVERYWHERE, he even replaced my talking Pee-Wee doll.
I recently found this trusty doll from my youth when my wife and I helped my parents clean out their attic. Needless to say I was shocked at how much the figure LOOKED like Keaton, seriously, this is an impressive face mold for back in the late 80's/early 90's, take a look for yourself.
Needless to say, mine was not mint in the box, he had some wear and tear to him....but honestly, it ADDED to the figure. His suit is dirty and dusty, his hair is no longer neat and combed back, but matted and old looking....I almost had a solid looking Beetlejuice (Until Neca gets on the ball and makes this guy, you hear me Neca!) but something was off.
His skin, he has "just came from the beach" skin....ok, maybe not THAT tan, but for the 'Juice, it's pretty off.
I decided to set down with my acrylics and fix up this 18 year old toy, the result was pretty good IMO. Here's some pics of the finished product.
I was thinking about putting the head on the SA doll bodies that you can find at Wal-Mart, my wife would even make a new suit for him (I was thinking the trench coat and hat, the one you see him with when you first REALLY see him) but I honestly think his head is to big to fit on those things.
Anyway, that's it, I was bored and just thought it would be neat to share.
