EXCLUSIVE: Looks like Fox is putting a rush on the Moses movie it has been developing with Ridley Scott. I’m hearing that the director and studio are courting Christian Bale to star. The project is called Exodus, which was originally scripted by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage. But it has become a big priority after a rewrite just came in by Steve Zaillian, who teamed with Scott on American Gangster. Scott is looking to mobilize this as soon as he completes The Counselor.

This comes as Warner Bros deals with Steven Spielberg dropping out of its mega-Moses project, Gods And Kings, the epic-sized film about life of Moses based on the script by Michael Green and Stuart Hazeldine. The film is PG-13 and is apparently 200 mins long.

I don't see why it being PG-13 is really a bad thing in this case, but my ass does not like the sound of 200 minutes, so numb.

I'm fine with the PG-13 rating too (and that was what I expecting anyway) but I know a lot were hoping that this is rated R.

The source material is very much R rated so when I saw that PG-13 rating I was scared that the theatrical cut was going to be a watered-down gutted version like the Kingdom of Heaven theatrical release, but if that 200 minute runtime is true then I dont see how in the hell it could be gutted. Unless he has a 4 hour Director's Cut planned then it would seem that the theatrical cut is his full cut and that makes me extremely happy. Seriously, I could kiss the Fox execs right now for allowing a runtime like that.

My ass on the other hand isnt gonna be happy. Might have to bring my own comfy cushion

Thematically it's R rated but if you don't show all the gory details I think the story can still be done justice with a PG-13 rating.

Haha! The marketing team should get on that and sell Moses themed cushions at cinemas.

Wait, it's going to be over 3 hours long? They could be really good or really bad, with Scott it's kind of a crapshoot. It could be like the KOH DC, where it's truly a sprawling epic that NEEDED to be really long. Or it could be like Robin Hood where we have a few cool/interesting moments sprinkled in with A LOT of boredom.

I just checked on the post you had deleted, that was nothing but you stirring the pot with sarcasm, it wasn't a constructive post that would generate anything productive and the post that replied to you was also deleted as someone took the bait and we don't need a silly racial flame war.

Basically the whole casting whites outrage has been utterly driven into the ground in this thread, just as the religious stuff killed the Noah thread.

If you feel so strongly you should gather up all like minded people and push for a boycott, that is the only way to get a message across, not by being obnoxious in a movie thread on SHH.

You guys should get a sense of humor. I don't think anyone could possibly get annoyed by my original post. But point taken if this argument is over on this thread. Theres certainly no one talking about it. But deleting posts is kinda big brother. I miss the days when SH was more wild and fun, less 1984 and PC.
