God dammit man, this one really hurts. This man has been my idol for years, even to the present day. I don't think there's a day I don't listen to at least one song by David Bowie. This really hurts me. RIP Bowie

A friend of mine found this :)

(Found online)
"David Bowie....David Bowie. I don't usually post tributes but Bowie is different. His music always seemed to me like a secret only I knew, something I understood but no one else quite got - and then you read every Facebook post and realize everyone felt the same way. There are artists who shout at you from stadium stages and then there are artists who whisper to you through headphones, who speak a language only you know. That was Bowie, for everyone. And the message he whispered to you was, "I give you permission."

RIP Bowie. Glad he got to release one last album before he passed. Had no idea he had cancer, though, that must've been kept under wraps pretty well like Wes Cravens' brain cancer was.

Yeah I remember a mention about his cancer a while ago, but, he didn't harp on it.

Its a fantastic album too, Lazarus is such a creative song.

Gary Oldman's lovely words on his friend

“David was an artist without equal. Having just released a new album, a masterpiece in my humble opinion, I cannot think of a more spectacular way to bid adieu. He was in pure creative mode, and sharing it with the world. We were friends and emailed or skyped almost weekly, especially during the past year and I can share that he faced his situation with grace, elegance, and customary humor. Not a Blackstar (the name of his recent, final album), DB, but in fact a Bright Shining Star. We shall miss you.”---Gary Oldman

Look up here, I'm in heaven
I've got scars that can't be seen
I've got drama, can't be stolen
Everybody knows me now

-from the song Lazarus

After listening to Black Star, it is definitely a much better album than Next Day.

One the day he died, I went to the street party in Brixton, London that was held in Bowie's honour. It was truly something to be seen, thousands of people singing along to "Starman", "Life on Mars", "Heroes" and even "The Laughing Gnome". A truly great way to celebrate this incredible man's life.

I'm still broken up about this news. I'm still in denial over it. So many greats are dying the first weeks of 2016.

I thought it was a hoax the first time I heard about it, was bummed to know it was real.

Listened to Under Pressure afterward.
