Got it for Christmas. Can't wait to get home and watch it!!!
I got the entire box set of all the old movies for Christmas! I remember the original and 'beneath' but not the others.
Speaking of 'Beaneath the Planet of the Apes', i'm wondering if they show the search party that went after the Icarus, in the upcoming sequel to 'Rise'.

I've seen all of the originals a dozen or more times each over the years....but unfortuantly haven't got around to watching RISE yet.I did too!I cannot wait to go back through and watch them all again! I don't remember what happened in a couple of them.
Well, you're in for a real treat with 'Rise'.
Rise is a great comeback to the series and it can branch out into their own mythos if they ever wanted to.
anyone else notice that on the tv it said the Icarus shuttle had gone missing
this just a nod to the original or will it play a part in future sequels?
I think in the sequel they should only speak english when talking to humans...but to each other it's more about movement and growls.
I also don't think we'll see much of the space mission in the sequel, seemed like more of just a nod to the original. I think the sequel will show us the Apes coming into power which I'm looking forward to seeing.
I recently watched all Ape movies and i am still shocked about what i saw and wanted to share.
What's funny is that i had never watched the old movies before, only the Tim Burton flick years ago, and i always thought of them as a campy series full of the American typical hero sh*** that saves the day in the end and everyone is cheering happily.
What i discovered with those films is that they are full of depressing moments, drama and they got some balls. They are an amazing social commentary to the racist and militaristic society we have today, just like the Romero's Zombie flicks.
Just when i thought the ending in the first one was shocking, in the second the mutated tele pathetic humans torture the hero and in the end a nuclear bomb goes off. And as if those weren't brutal enough, in the 3rd one Cornelius and Zira die in cold blood like dogs.
Finally seeing the Rise also, i must say this is one of the most deeply thought provoking and serious franchises ever. Can't wait to see where they will go with the sequel next.
Just watched it for the first time. Excellent, of course. Andy Serkis easily out-performed everyone else.
I hope the sequel works out, and sort of follows/retells Battle, since this was basically a retelling of Conquest.
