According to Sneider, during production, there were times when Downey would be present on set to read lines for Doctor Doom, but not be involved in the scenes. In his place, body and face doubles would be standing in the movie. However, Sneider noted, eventually Downey realized the situation was not working, and requested to reshoot the entire three week’s of scenes, with him in the actual Doctor Doom costume.

If this is true (dubious with Sneider involved), I don't get the point of paying all that money for Downey, only to have him give lines off camera while a double wears the suit. Why did they think that would work?
 
After his blow-up about Gunn, Sneider flushed what little credibility he had down the toilet. His entire MO now is rage baiting and trolling.

Sneider could say the sky is blue and I'd still doubt him.
 
Those symbols on his cape buckle disks are very interesting. I wonder if those are Romanian/Latverian symbols?
 
At least the Russos understood that assignment.

It looks good if its accurate. I just hope RDJ keeps the mask on for the majority of Doomsday at least.
 
The look of the mask in F4 wasn’t good at all. So cheap looking and way too shiny. This one is a massive improvement, I’m a big fan of the chain mail armor and the disks are pretty intriguing, at first I thought they had an Asgardian vibe to them but no sure about the connection, also there are 2 distinct emblems on those discs, a trident and what looks like Captain Marvel’s star…

I hope they just use a CGI mask for the fight sequences and CGI heavy stuff, otherwise I would prefer to see a real mask. For the most part haven’t been impressed with the CGI masks/helmets.

Yeh my theory is that Doom’s armor and those symbols are no accident, they look like Captain Marvel’s star, Thor’s hammer aka Mjolnir and probably even some of the 10 rings on his arm. So those are likely going to be some of the casualties inflicted by Doom just to prove the point of how big of a threat he is and the symbols are basically trophies on his mantle.
