In the Rise of the Silver Surfer Dr Doom was defeated, but was that his real end? Dr Doom was not treated with respect in both films and now his fall to the depths didn't do justice to the character. They have taken a more comic-book direction in the new installment, but seeing more Julian than Doom doesn't make his character whole. With the introduction of Latveria we all are waiting for him to take power of rule in that country. What are your opinion? How can Doom survive his fall to the depth of the ocean? What do you think is the best plot for the next film? Will it include Doom, as Dr Doom the supreme dictator in his country or only as Victor taking power through politics in Latveria as a minor character? Feel free to discuss this? How will it turn out for this character in the end? Will he get the respect he deserves?

ENOUGH Doom, for now. There are too many other great characters for the FF to feature, they do not have to use the same villian over, and over, and over...

Doom should come back FF4. FF3 we need a break..to see the INHUMANS!!!

Doom was treated with respect... he just doesn't have his God-complex yet.

Honestly... if they can give him his badass God-complex, you can NEVER have enough doom... but if all they're going to do is a treacherous evil guy, I say call it a day.

I just got an idea, if they go through with a FF3 with Namor, Doom and Namor could team up.

That would be hot.

But the rights to Namor are at another studio, and he's off limits.

imo Doom has to be in all of them. there is no way that is his end. Not dramatic enough of a defeat. I feel Doom is the overall the top seeded bad guy in the Marvel Universe. He needs to be in all of them. And just make him doom. At the end of the 2nd he looked like the jacked up shredder for the 2nd tmnt movie. not needed

1) There is a good chance that the third film will be the last, because that's when the casts' contracts run out.

2) I really hope we see Doom return, because we still haven't gotten to see FULL DOOM. I want him to take over Latveria and launch a full assault. We're getting there... let's go all the way!

3) No way do I want to the trilogy to end with a weak villian like Annihilus or something... Doom is the biggest bad guy in Marvel. If Magneto can appear in three movies, Doom should definitely be this franchise's Magneto.

It's a sick sad world in which Annihilus is "weak"

Visually arresting, sure. Powerful, yeah. But interesting? He bores the piss out of me. I'd rather watch a movie about the Trapster than Annihilus.

Are you kidding me, it's Doom. It's just like it was in the comics, everytime you think he was dead or defeated he comes back.

Leave Doom out of FF3. It's getting repetitive. Lets move on. :o

Give Doom a LONG rest! I know he is their number on bad guy, but he was not in every issue of the comic [sometimes going YEARS between appearances], and should not be in every film. Perhaps the biggest flaw with the X-MEN movies has been Magneto, Magneto, Magneto; and yet that's what some of you want for this series!

Move on to any number of other villains that are just as interesting both visually and from a story point. The possibilities for an FF series are as limitless as the Bond series has been, so lets try and think a little bigger, shall we?

Well it helped that McKellan's Magneto was excellent and his inclusion fit the direction of the story (movies 1 and 2 really).

Hey, I thought Magneto was well done in them all, but part three was so much about him that the entire "Dark Phoenix" thing seemed rushed. Like Sandman and Venom in Spidey 3, neither one got the screen time they needed. I'm just saying there are lots of FF stories to tell that do not need to have Doom in them, and I DON'T want to see him the mastermind behind other's attacks on the FF.

Doctor Doom was in the Fantastic Four movies?

I didn't see him.

LMAO...Story said we'd see FULL BAD ASS DOOM in Rise of the Surfer rofl

Anyway, I say bring him back. He is to the F4 films as Magneto is to the X-films, except just much lamer and way less powerful, oh and annoying.

I kinda liked his demise at the end of the 1st. He looked like his junk melted off LOL no wonder he hated them all so much. But knocking him into the ocean was just...ugh, for a lesser character certainly. And considering he wasn't really necessary in RotSS, they'd need the best damn Doom story ever for him to come back and not seem played out. Was he doomier this time around? Sure. But not Doomy enough.

I felt Doom sinking into the ocean left the door open for a Namor appearance in FF3, but since theres rights issues, that idea seems fairly unlikely at the moment. Personally, it really wouldnt hurt my feelings not seeing Doom return yet again in the 2nd sequel, but if the screenwriters can figure out a way to insert him into the story and make his appearances more satisfying than what we have seen in the other two films, I wouldnt be against that notion either to be perfectly honest.

I would like to see more doom and more havoc for the FF3. I don't know how the writers can put him but i want to see Doom not Dumb. i like to see a nice full out battle with Thing and Doom like throwing people through buildings and cars. And a more longer movie.

Was Dr. Doom ever in the Fantastic Four films? I don't think he was ever referred to as Dr Doom. I saw an imposter but not Doom.

I really don't know why X-3 had to have Magneto in it at all..... he had absolutely nothing to do with the Dark Phoenix story.

I think both Marvel and the movies have made Charles and Eric too "chummy" over the years. One of the worst was when after Xorn/Magneto was retconned away when Morrison left Marvel, Claremont has Charles and Eric lounging around Genosha in comfy sweaters. It would be like seeing Reed and Victor going to a Yanni concert together.... yechhhhhhh....

I kind of doubt they will have Doom in the last movie because Julian's contract doesn't require it. He can be in any Fox film, not necessarily the FF. It's really too bad that they didn't start out with the way Doom was depicted in this movie to begin with because with just a more few well-written scenes he can be a lot more like classic Doom. To me, there's been a couple of big problems from the very beginning.... poor writing and concerted effort by both Avi Arad and Fox to avoid putting a lot of the classic elements into the film. What we got had to be fought for by Tim Story. The DVD commentary by Frost and Avi was infuriating.

I am not very happy with the way they have portrayed him thus far but it would be a cool twist if he sunk to alantis and was saved by the alanteans before he tries to take them over.

^How corny...how would he breathe under water? Sorry but no Atlanteans in the Bay of China.
