Robin Williams and Alexie Gilmore have signed to star in the indie feature World's Greatest Dad, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Williams plays Lance, a high school poetry teacher who copes with his son's death from a freak *********ion accident by faking a suicide note to spare the family shame. The note, published without his permission, ends up becoming a sensation, and Lance reignites his writing career by penning a personal journal he claims was written by his son (Daryl Sabara).

Gilmore plays Claire, a teacher who has an affair with Lance.

Bob Goldthwait wrote the script and is directing the project, which began filming Tuesday in Seattle.

Certainly one of the more unusual comedy ideas ive seen.

Did you miss the part where it said INDIE feature? There isn't going to be a hit or miss, it probably won't even get a wide release.

As far as the film goes, I like the sound of it.

So this came out on DVD a few days ago.... and I got it. Watching it now. So far it's good.
