RoboCop Reboot

Yeah, I'm really hating the suit's description. It sounds terrible, to be honest.

Non-robotic movements? Skin-like armor? See-thru visor?

I don't know man, that doesn't sound like Robocop at all.

I think I'm going to cry :(

I'm with you. :csad:

However, I will try my best to reserve full judgement until I see some real concept photos or real set photos. The only saving grace in all of this is the solid cast (so far).

It's like what a few others said, they're sticking the name of Robocop there just to easily market it.

And it's an idea that they can get away with, "as long as he's a cop and a robot, it doesn't matter what he looks like". This is seriously going to piss of a lot of fans.

But...I'll wait and see what happens. But atm, I cannot call this concept or fathom the idea of it as Robocop...It's just Cyborg-Officer to me!

I think I'm the only person that wanted something new. Glad I'm getting it. :)

You're not the only one. ;)

Just being familiar with Padilha's work I know he's perfect for this movie.

I assumed you'd be all for the classic RoboCop. I assumed wrong. lol

I love the original Robocop. Arguably my favorite movie of all time.

With that said I'm ready for a new vision especially the one from Mr. Padilha. The Tropa De Elite movies are the best crime/action dramas I've watched in a while. That alone makes me incredibly ecstatic about this project.

The amazing casting is the cherry on top.

I'm not totally against.

I'd probably be more pissed if they tried imitating Peter's stuff to the tee.

I guess it's just a new Robocop for a new generation. At least we still have the memories of the old :)

I just need to see the suit, the description is iffy, but hopefully it's different as others have said the concept art that leaked was really good. It's perfect for a reboot imo

I want them to try something new... even if that means failing. If I was to watch Robocop 1987 .... I'll watch Robocop 1987.

I wish them luck as they'll need it, but there is always a chance even if just a slim one they can do better and I hope they do.

We got that description BEFORE that licensing poster that was just revealed. The small bit of armor we see on that looks NOTHING like what the description said, but more like the classic suit imo

-DOOM :doom:

No joke, I hope they mention that they put some sort of social media feature in Robocop's HUD.

Robocop is in my top 10 (maybe even top 5) favorite movies of all time, why do they have to remake THIS movie. Why not remake a movie that sucked and make that movie better?

That's always an interesting question to pose - in my mind there are tonnes of movies out there where the concept was potentially fantastic yet [for whatever reason] the end product was far from desirable - I can never understand why no effort is put into re-making those movies in favour of remaking movies that were fantastic to begin with.

But it happens, so hey ho......I'm still waiting for my C.H.U.D. remake. :D

There hasn't been a real attempt to remake a bad movie has there?

MGM is on a remake streak right now, with this and Carrie. They're trying to get Poltergeist remade and pray it doesn't.

I'm with you on that one - Poltergeist should just be left alone. Instead, studios should focus their efforts on remaking 'Runaway' (the one with Tom Selleck), Disney can redo Condorman and someone else can do Remo: Unarmed and Dangerous. :D

I'm a huge Destroyer fan. I really wish they'd remake Remo Williams.
