So I'm strollin' through Toys 'R' Us today and picked up Bumblebee, Barricade and the biggest baddie of 'em all--Megatron!!! :trans: in their Robot Replica action figure form from Hasbro.

Now when I first started seeing the movie figures I was soooo disappointed in 1) lack of detail and 2) scale issues (however the Ultimate Bumblebee looks reaaallly bada$$

The 'Formers just didn't do it for me in their robot form. I am sure it's not impossbile to make the robots look just as good as they do in their vehicle form but Hasbro just wants to crank out anything for the public to gobble up.

Now I've seen these Robot Replicas and they are friggin' AWESOME! They don't transform but their robot versions are very detailed and pretty much exactly like the movie (Barricade doesn't have 'To Punish & Enslave' on him though :() and I recommend them to everyone.

It would have been REALLY awesome if Hasbro decided to make these like 12 inches or something (they're about 6 or so inches).

Either way check 'em out!

Cool, they have both Bumblebee and Frenzy! (So sue me, I like the little psychotic nutball:D) How much did you pay for them, btw.

Thanks for the link.

Be careful of Ultimate BB, He looks cool sure, but there is a video floating around in the products (ultimate BB thread) and you can see his transformation is more or less not very fun to do.

Very complex, but feels less and less like a transformer as the complexity increases, but that's just me.

More or less, you can't really do much with him other than display him. He's just too complex, and too expensive. If I'm going to just display him, then I might as well just leave him in the box for the future you know?

I could see myself transforming him once or twice, but shelving him for eternity. Lot of toy, for a lot of money.

Better yet, you could do like Jin Saotome and mix the RR figures with the transformable ones for the ultimate toy. :D

Maybe one day they will give us a Megatron movie figre that actually doesnt look like something that fell out of a horse's rear end :oldrazz:

If you've got the hours to put into it, you could always try re-painting Leader Megatron. :oldrazz:

Man, I love seeing Satome's work. Every time I see a custom of a TF figure I get excited about getting that toy, until I remember that the way it looks on his site is because he made it so. I'd buy his customs from his ebay auctions, but they're so damn pricey! :ninja:

I basically just want a Megatron with those colors, or better yet, one with the detail of the leader Megs, just without wings. The wings just annoy the crap outta me and I'd rather have a leader Megs without the wings, pods, or platypus tail. Yes, I said platypus :oldrazz:

Eh, I've learned to live with the extra bulk. He is a toy, after all. :oldrazz:

Still, it'd be cool if they could make future toys look more accurate and still be able to transform. I'm looking at you, Masterpiece series! :ninja:

I'm still trying to figure out how he got an LED inside of Megatron's head! :wow:

And I wish I could find a strobing police light like he put inside of Barricade... :csad:

No worries for the link! :) And I paid $14.99 for them at Toys R Us. Which I found to be a little steep...buuut I guess that's how much toys are gettin' these days anyways when you think about it. The Marvel Legends were the same price and some of those look like crap.

I think these look awesome, again my only gripe is that they are a little small. It would be neat to have them at least 10 inches or so..that would be wicked.

Sorry to hear about the Ultimate Bumblebee. I guess it would be a little problematic and a pain in the arse to transform the toy from robot mode to vehicle if it's that detailed.

I am SOOOO hoping they come out with the rest of the Transformer figures in Robot Replica. I want a Blackout figure!!!

The guy does this for a living. I I tried a repaint or custom, it would look like absolute crap. I really loved the repaint of voyager Optimus and Scorponok, and the Blackout custom was not joke either! :wow:
