Rockstar's making Manhunt 2 for the Wii!

Get ready to wave goodbye one last time to all those specious misconceptions that the Wii -- thanks to its unique name, diminutive size, and first-party mascot -- is a children's system. Rockstar Games, who've always had a penchant for controversy, just added a gasoline-soaked two by four (with nails in it) to the "do video games teach kids to kill" bonfire, announcing that Manhunt 2, the sequel to last generation's ultraviolent snuff film-slash-video game, will be released on the PlayStation 2, the PSP and the Wii -- with nary an Xbox 360 or PS3 announcement in sight.

The PS2 and PSP versions are being developed by Rockstar London, their newest studio, in conjunction with Manhunt series creator Rockstar North (Grand Theft Auto) while the Wii version is being handled independently by Rockstar Toronto (The Warriors). We're going to be hearing a lot more about this one.

Are you talking about GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas? GTA4 will probably be a bit too advanced for the Wii's hardware.

Its obvious GTA4 wont be able to work on wii unless theres some massive overhaul in graphics and variety in weapons and missions. That said, its possible that they could make a GTA exclusive, kinda like what they're doing with Sonic, at least in the sense that theres something there for wii owners.

Manhunt was fun...or like, 10 minutes, which is about how long it took to see all the death animations...this one should be slightly more action oriented, because all that broke up the monotiny of "sneak around, kill guy with bag, sneak aroung, kill guy with nail gun" as the run and gun shooting levels, like the mall...

Well, at least Rockstar are taking intrest in nintendo's console this Gen round, did they even have a game out on the Gamecube?

I don't know if rockstar would just port one of the older GTA's, they're quite old now... and are going for less than £5 in most trade in shops around town.

In an ideal world we'd get a GTA exclusive, and I did hear a rumor about it a week or so ago, unless that was just about Manhunt and the guy who said got a little mixed up.

But this is FANTASTIC. Wii already has more quality than PS3 and 360 combined. Getting a rockstar game is, as we all know, the first step to a GTA, a huge step to improving the image of Ninty as a kid's company.

Ok, so I love the Wii, but I think your statement is a little premature.

Wii has several quality titles, more than the PS3....but thus far 360 has the majority of the quality titles. It's not a knock against Nintendo, it's just that MS had a year to get some great titles out to the public.

Nintendo though, has so many great titles to look forward to this year, that those who own a Wii will have fun fun fun.t:

Meh, there are only two 360 games that make me want to get the system, Gears and Lost Planet. And really, the only upcoming game I want is Bioshock. That said, I have a friend who's had the 360 since launch and I'm at his house every other day, so I play these games for free.

Call me bias, but personally, I like all the wii games I have more than any 360 title my friend has.... well, maybe not more than Lost Planet. But Lost Planet is baller ass ****.

Oh and if anyone needs to come back, its Gammy.
