Yes!

But Coogler and MBJ have signed up to do another movie post Black Panther though. Minimum another two or 3 year wait.

Oh heck yes, I'd love to see Drago come back.

Update on Creed 2.

Stallone has been fully focused on the Creed sequel for MGM. He is writing the script, and has hinted online that the plot might well pit Michael B Jordan’s Adonis character against the son of Drago, the Russian heavyweight (played by Dolph Lundgren) who killed Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) in the ring during 1985’s Rocky IV. The hope is to get that film into production next year.

If Drago's son is in it, they should cast another Swede. Alexander Skarsgård for Ivan Drago Jr. :sly:

Why is Aaron Covington/co-writer of Creed not helping with the script? I get Coogler is busy, but Covington isn't. Stallone should write the Balboa stuff, but should have help from Covington.

Intresting to hear.i like idea of putting son of drago as the opporent in the ring.it would create so much added rama for fight.Intresting that stallone is wrtiing creed sequel.

I'm all for Creed confronting an aged Drago about what happened. But actually fighting his son seems... A little hokey.

Then again Rocky IV is hokey as hell, so...

A LOT hokey. Definitely not interested in that as the storyline.

Not this first draft, at least. Hopefully he and/or Aaron Covington will be able to take a pass at it.

Great to hear the Drago character is returning. I actually found him ridiculously cheesy & one-dimensional in Rocky 4, but that wasn’t that great of a movie anyway.

I fully expect added depth to his character in Creed 2, there’s so much emotional potential they could go with in the story now that’s he back. I’m looking forward to Creed 2 even more now.

What about that guy who whooped Adonis in the beggining of Creed?

Coogler and Jordan should talk about this at Comic-Con right?

Yep. They should be giving Adonis his own opponents, instead of trying to make it more about Rocky.

I get what you're saying but Drago is literally the reason why Adonis is an orphan so it would be even more of a personal fight for him than when Rocky fought him.

I've been thinking about the Drago idea, though my thoughts kind of went away from son; I think a prized student and surrogate son may be thematically more powerful. Have Adonis face someone who idealizes Drago, even while being aware of who and what Drago was when he faced Apollo, without the myopic baggage of a blood feud and instead a more sincere "Yes, he is a flawed man, and yes he killed your father, but he's so much more than that, and if you keep calling him a killer, I'm going to defend him."

I think making Drago 2.0 be a reverse foil to Donnie rather than an exact one would be better. Donnie has issues regarding being an unintended illegitimate son that he's finally overcome, so have Drago 2.0 be more truly stoic and confident in his part of Drago's legacy to drive that home. Donnie is Creed's son but Rocky's student, so have Drago 2.0 be Drago's student but not his son. Maybe even do something with their styles; if Donnie is a kind of out-boxer/slugger hybrid, maybe have Drago 2.0 be a true swarmer, perhaps even an older and beaten one since he won't follow Drago's missteps.

I really think it might be cooler to have Donnie see an opponent he respects but from a school he loathes.

Looking forward to directing The incredibly talented Michael B Jordan in CREED 2 next year ...… https://www.instagram.com/p/BaDFp75jjfL/

Eh...Rocky Balboa has not aged well. So heavy handed. Maybe Creed inspired Sly though. Hoping for the best.
