Just seen that Sage Northcutt has apparently screen-tested. Acting ability aside, he certainly looks like he could be Drago's son, I'll give him that.

We need another Swede. Alexander Skarsgård for Drago's son! :woot:

Creed 2's got a director.

http://variety.com/2017/film/news/creed-2-director-steven-caple-jr-1202626542/

MGM and Warner Bros. have tapped up-and-coming director Steven Caple Jr. to direct Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone in “Creed 2,” sources tell Variety, with production expected to start in spring 2018.

Along with Jordan and Stallone, Tessa Thompson will also return for the sequel, reprising her role as Bianca.

Sources also say that Ryan Coogler, who directed “Creed,” is expected to join in an executive producer role, though a deal has not yet closed, as Coogler is currently wrapping up post-production on Marvel’s “Black Panther.”

Stallone had considered directing “Creed 2” at one point, but after talking it over with Jordan and the execs, they made the decision to find another director. After a lengthy search, Jordan and Stallone personally picked Caple to take the reins.

Excited for Coogler to hand over the reins to Steven Caple, Jr. - our director for Creed 2! Can’t wait to bring you guys the next chapter of our story ... coming at you November 2018. #Creed2

Seeing as Black Panther is coming out in February + press tour, etc. Yea Coogler wasn't going to have the time for prep and then put this movie out in November.

Glad he's the producer though. Should help a great deal with shaping the film.

My excitement is increasing again.

I either didn't know or didn't remember that Cheo H. Coker wrote the script with Stallone. The writing on the Luke Cage show wasn't that great and the whole Drago angle doesn't really interest me so I'm still very skeptical . I wonder why they didn't get Aaron Covington back?

I guess I'll know for sure if this gets my money once we get some trailers.

This is what happens when you only read the title and not the article. :funny:

I so badly want to see Lesnar F5 Rocky now, LOL!!!!

Maybe they could use this as a training montage for Adonis (the solo especially). Sure, the song (and album) was released last year but hey, why not?! Haken are like the new Dream Theater. ;)

All in all, looking forward to this film. Should still be good if Coogler is involved in some capacity anyhow.

I wonder if Lundgren his character will be his son's trainer much like how Rocky has become Adonis' trainer? I wonder if Adonis his love interest Tessa Thompson's character of Bianca will be back for the sequel?

She is basically the Adrian to Adonis' Rocky if that makes any sense

But I wonder if Brigitte Nielsen will be back as Lundgren's wife in the film and I assume she would be the mother of Lundgren's son in the film

Adonis he would have to look across the ring at the man who killed his father Apollo that being Ivan Drago but then Adonis is not fighting Ivan he is fighting the son of the man who killed his father so it makes me wonder if Ivan will be tough on his son telling him that he has to kill Adonis

Dutch kickboxer (world heavyweight champion) Rico Verhoeven has been doing a press tour for his book and said that he tested for a role in Creed 2. The first test he filmed himself and the second time he was invited (by Stallone) to audition in the USA.

Now that a new director is on board he doesn't know what will come of it.He will, however, gladly audition again if they want him to.

EXCLUSIVE: Romanian boxer Florian "Big Nasty" Munteanu to play @Dolph_Lundgren's son and @MichaelB4Jordan's main opponent in CREED 2! That's right... it's IVAN DRAGO JR. http://bit.ly/2DdDkZM

Yeah curious if the final match will take place in Russia.

It’ll be interesting to see what angle they go with. Rocky IV was the height of the Cold War. Is this going to be about Creed fighting the urge to kill the son of the man who murdered his father, whom he never met? Seems like a stretch.

I don't have high hopes for the movie at this point. On paper, Creed fighting Drago's son sounds like bad fan fiction.

Not familiar with the dude at all, but he's sure as hell a better fit for it than that Lesnar meat-head.

It's not like he'll likely have much dialogue, Drago didn't the first time around. And even though neither of them are actors, at least the accent'll probably come off a little more authentic with this guy than Lesnar.

Kinda seems to have a bit of a Dolph look facially too, the eyes and all.

Lesnar doesn't want to be in movies. He's reclusive and hates people and just likes to hunt on his Canada estate. The dude looks like he jumped out of a comic book so they want him to be Eddie Brock or Venom or whatever, but it's just not what he wants to do.

I agree on the level of me that likes good cinema. However, the person in me who loves insanity and train wrecks of MST3K levels LOVES this!
