runtime error 75 is a file path access problem

sometimes other programs can limit user access and affect the use of other files. viruses can do this too.

is it only when you try to do certain things or all the time doing almost anything? I'd try shutting down all unnecessary programs. all tsrs that you can stop through the taskmanager or through the admin management console.
if that's no help then you either have a virus or a bad cluster on the hdd.
the hdd can be repaired but you have to do a full chkdsk with surface scan and fix all errors enabled to flag the bad spots so the OS doesn't write to that area again. but if you have a bad cluster then it's likely you'll get another before too long. I'd plan on doing a backup onto another drive and maybe retire than one to just hold stuff on and not host the os.

it pretty much happens within minutes of turning my computer on...i was hoping there'd be a freeware program or something to fix it....
