He does have range. He's great in the smaller indie films. It's just that he's good looking, can handle action very well and has a comedy background... so he ends up in a lot of films like this.

He's a character actor trapped in a leading man's body. I mean The Voices or The Nines are perfect examples. He basically plays 3 completely different personalities of the same character in each film.

Reynolds seems to be actually playing the straight man in this one , so he won't be that Deadpoolish.
