Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson & Gary Oldman in Hitmans Bodyguard

I liked that trailer as much as the first.

I like how they digitally replaced the Royal Palace in Amsterdam with a courthouse :funny: I think I'm gonna love this movie but also get annoyed at the little discrepancies.

Though the tagline is hilarious on this one.

It's a good tag line but I agree, the BODYGUARD spoof one was better. Still really looking forward to this. It seems a perfect fit for both Sam and Reynolds at this stage of their careers.

Just got out and it was interesting. Salma Hayek damn near steals the show. Reynolds and Jackson bounce pretty well off each other.

Yeah, this is the last one of the summer I'm looking forward to.

This looks awesome. :D I love both of these guys.

Not all the jokes worked for me but the audience really had ate it up. SLJ is having fun throughout and it's fun to watch.

We finally got it. We didn’t need it nor did we ask for it but we got it. We finally got the Deadpool/Nick Fury team up movie that we didn’t know that we wanted. Once the teaser trailer & poster came out for "The Hitman’s Bodyguard", I was filled with nothing but excitement. Immediately right after though I got skeptical because of one primary fact; this is the production company that brought you great films such as "Mechanic: Resurrection", "Criminal", "The Legend of Hercules", and "Texas Chainsaw 3D". Millennium Films have been the master of generic action movies and. Unfortunately, my skepticism was correct. When the best thing about The Hitman’s Bodyguard is its teaser poster, you know you ****ed up big time.

Yup, can't say I'm surprised at the reviews this has gotten. The biggest issue to me was that it couldn't decide if it wanted to be an action movie parody or a regular action film with humor.

I thought it was a fine, formulaic movie. The action setpieces are pretty cool, the leads have chemistry with each other, but I thought the romance subplot was terrible and Oldman was wasted.

Caught it last night, it's a fun film. Not really massively deep or whatever but buddy comedies are what they are, ever since the days of the Road To movies, Pryor and Wilder, etc. Just a lot of R rated action and profanity laced debauchery. And damn it was funny.

I'm just glad to see that it's doing pretty well at the box office. I was worried the numbers would come in low first weekend but $21 million off a $30 million budget ain't bad at all, especially if it holds up well enough.

Completely agree with both.
I would say the sum of its parts is funnier than expected.
Maybe a bit too much on the noisy side of things but the reviews are IMO misleading: it's a little unpretentious film and technically surprising, the director, Patrick Hughes, knows how to use a budget and what his job's about.
I'm open to a sequel.

Of course! :funny:

Sequel 'Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard' in the Works

Millennium Films is lining up further assassination hijinks with a sequel to its 2017 hit The Hitman's Bodyguard.

Titled The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, the film is being touted on posters in Cannes, alongside other major franchise titles "coming soon" from the action specialists, including Angel Has Fallen, The Expendables 4, Rambo V and Mechanic 3.

While no script is yet available, The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard is described in the Cannes market catalogue as "The Good. The Bad. And the Bats**t cray." Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson are believed to be reprising their roles, although the casting hasn't been confirmed, while Patrick Hughes is thought to be returning to the director's chair.
