Documentary/Biopic Sam Mendes directing 4 biopics on each member of The Beatles

I like the concept, in theory, but the cynic in me just sees this as WB selling the same movie four times.

Maybe this ends up being a Max release

That's Sony and Apple, not WB. I guess after Madame Web's failure they have to count on a new cinematic universe. :o

Oh my bad, you’re right. I thought it was WB, not Sony.

Sam Mendes isn't the kind of guy I see making the same movie 4 times

Lol idk, a lot of Spectre felt like a Skyfall rehash.

But, I mean, how different is George Harrison’s POV from Ringo’s when they’re performing for Johnny Carson? Like, there’s gonna be overlap and repeat scenes/performances, right?

WBD greenlights their The Rolling Stones Cinematic Universe directed by David Yates
David Yates?

But in all seriousness, a Keith Richards movie would be a sight to behold.

Actually there were plans to do a Rolling stones biopic way back in the 90s .

I don't remember which studio would have produced it, but I remember hearing that they wanted Daniel Day Lewis as Keith Richards , and Willem Dafoe as Mick Jagger.

I can't even imagine the method acting techniques Daniel Day Lewis would go through if he played Keith.

Who Should Play John, Paul, George and Ringo in the Beatles Movies?

I really dig the suggestion of Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr

For Brian Epstein, the Beatles manager , I think Ben Whishaw , would be good,

For George Martin , The Beatles Producer , Tobias Menzies, would be good

And Mia Goth would make an excellent Pattie Boyd, George's first wife , and the woman his friend Eric Clapton had an affair with and wrote the song Layla about

Brian Epstein is going to walk in during the after credits sequence and tell them they’re part of something bigger than they know

Given The Beatles History with Bob Dylan, Timothee Chalamet's Dylan Biopic film must be apart of the same Shared Universe .

It also means the Taron Egerton's Rocketman must technically be the first film in the Beatles Biopic Cinematic Universe , since Elton John and John Lennon recorded Whatever Gets You Through the Night together in the 70s ..

Sure, but there was overlap with Flags of Our Father's and Letters From Iwo Jima also. But they're very different movies. So changing the POV definitely changes the entire thing potentially. As for Spectre vs Skyfall, for all the faults I had with Spectre, it didn't feel at all like Skyfall to me.

Never would have thought of Pattinson as John , But I could see it along with Mescal .

Kinda funny too , since Pattinson has always reminded me more of Stu Sutcliffe , one of the early members of the Beatles , and one of John's closet friends.

Pattinson would be a great Lennon, the only thing is he's closer to the age Lennon was when he died. But hey, if Scorsese can try to pass off De Niro as 40 years younger in The Irishman, I can conceivably buy Pattinson as Lennon in his early 20's at the height of Beatlemania. :o

Personally I think they should just go all unknowns for the four. Or at least, relatively unknowns ala Austin Butler as Elvis.

At the end of the day, I tend to think they'll go with lesser known actors in the roles.

That's mostly been the case with Beatles related biopics, save Christopher Eccleston who played Lennon in a Biopic, and Aiden Quinn who played Paul in the film Two Of Us.

I'm not counting Walk Hard : The Dewy Cox Story  .

Aaron Taylor Johnson wasn't a big name when he played John in Nowhere Boy .

So I'd expect them to go with lesser known actors as in the past .

So what are the odds that whoever Mendes casts as Paul and Ringo will actually talk to Paul and Ringo?
