Sasha Calle is Supergirl

I guess this kills the whole "her hair is wrapped behind her neck bit"

E2gVOwLWQAEHsRp

I find it odd to go for a version nobody has ever heard of. Even fans have to go on wiki to learn about her

Slight change in the shape but looks pretty much clear it's related to the current continuity

I don't like the bright red for the upper shoulder area. Looks like Captain Marvel.

Sasha could very well be playing Kara Zor-El.

Just the ethnicity-swapped Latino version.. with short Black hair.

I wonder if she's supposed to be from a reality where she is the main 'Superman' character, and there is no Kal-El.

Not a huge fan to be honest.
Dont like the chainmail kind of look and that the S seems to be part of the suit texture.
I prefer it when the emblem stands out as its own piece.
But the coloring is neat.

A stiffer (3D-ish) chest emblem is easier to do on a man's costume. :word:

I love it, id hope she's related to Henry since they used his version of the crest.
Her crest is different enough to where they aren't related. Her being from a different universe seems like the most obvious route

Short hair. Red and blue color scheme on outfit.

IMO I just think more of Captain Marvel.

I'm guessing there's not gonna be a cape.

The only issue I have, is Snyder created that S, a whole language and history behind it too. We see the glyphs all over krypton and everything means something... Snyder was very detailed.

So, I hope this design uses that lore and expands upon it - like I would be pissed if it's just a 'pretty' design and no logic behind it, with Snyder and co looking at it and seeing a butchered attempt.

If that makes sense.

Could be a sound theory. Especially given we have Old Bruce as well.

I'd rather have Kara (blonde an' all), but if they're sticking with the short dark haired look Lara is better.

It'll likely look better as a whole but blue boots....would've preferred red.

nice... you know, if she's from BM '89 universe you know who would be a perfect older Clark/Superman?
Gerard Christopher... it's not too hard to imagine the cross over in the 90's

Why would they make 'Lara Kent' as the DCEU's Supergirl?

I think it could also be possible this is Kara Zor-El. But WB execs found the Helen Slater Blonde Barbie look as too 'problematic' (to quote the Twitter weirdos). So they are drastically reinventing the character's appearance to make some headlines.

There's also the possibility that this is Henry Cavill's replacement. WB wants a female 'Superman' for the DCEU. That was the rumor earlier.

Because Flashpoint is bringing in heroes from other universes/realities.

She could be Kara of the main world but then they need an origin story. As far as looks....WB hasnt really been keen on having a variety of looks. All their heroes are brunettes/raven sans Mera and maybe Black Canary.

The problem with that is, the trades and the Director confirmed that Sasha Calle would be the DCEU's official Supergirl going forward.

Flashpoint introduces us to this character, and she'll be a main staple of the DCEU in future films later.

So we're stuck with this version. At least until WB decides to 'course correct' again, lol.

Welp. Looks like she's not going to be blonde. :(

If she's not blonde, then I'd rather have her be Lara Kent, daughter of Superman, than Kara Zor-El.

I mean WB/DC has race-swapped major staple characters before for live action films; Black Canary, Superman (coming soon), Hawkman, Aquaman, Iris West, Perry White, Selina/Catwoman, Jim Gordon, etc.

This doesn't seem that different.

Also, I have my doubts about the 'Lara Kent' thing. The character is so obscure. And it seems strange that an Argentinian director would select a Latino actress to play the daughter of two white people.. It would make more sense that he'd want to reinvent Kara as Latino in appearance.
