Well, I really don't care how slow it is, channel-surfing wise. And, I don't have TiVo, so that's out of the question.

Yeah, the complex offers both Dish and DirecTV, but only AT&T phone service and hi-speed.

check into HOMEZONE..with ATT... it connects you DSL and DISH together.... ayou can download movies pics..to display and listen to on your TV.. and acces you DVR(tivo) from ANY COMPUTER connected to the net..so you can program it to record your shows from work school wherever....

do you have the WIRELESS modem for your highspeed?

I'll get a wireless router for my hi-speed, since I have to connect my PS3, 360 and laptop to the 'net.

ok check this.....

if you get homezone.. with your dish

not only does the homezone receiver give you a DVR(dude you need a DVR) but theres TWO promos you can chose from...

ONE you can get your wireless router for FREE(79.99 rebate) where normally you gonna have to pay 79.99 and only get a 49.99 rebate...

OR if you sign up for the DIsh DVR Advantage... you can get a package to for 200 channels 49.99 ...on top of that you get 10.00 off and for ten months..and if you COMBINE you phone and hsi(dsl) and dish on one bill..you get an ADDTL 4.00 off a month on your dish..your 49.99 installation fee waived and a movie channel free for three months..also if you add HD(the price goes up,i forgot how much) you get an ADDTL 10.00 off for ten months...

call AT&T and ask for details on combined billing for all your services:cwink: :woot:

DirecTv's fine with me. I've had it for a while now. Only thing that sucks is when it pours like hell & the cable goes out for a while.:o

To really be honest, there's not THAT much of a difference between them. Get whatever's going to be the most cost effective for you. We have Dish at my house, which was a better option that DirectTV when I got it. But, my folks and my brother have DirectTV and it works great for them. Just get the DVR function and HD if you're really into that, and you'll be happy.

P.S. - Cable is the devil!

Yeah, I forgot about the Homezone thing. I'll probably get that.

Thanks for your help everyone. Further advice is appreciated, still!

I've already tried Hamzone's service. The programming stinks. I don't know who in Hell would watch Hamzone. Maybe my Uncle Wug.

I will, however, choose Star Choice. Star Choice is the choice of stars. Why? Because of its awesome programming, and the compatibility with the Hamzone Affilitation Gamer Satellite. HAGS provides great online stability for online gaming on your XBOX, iBOX, WiiBOX and FoxBOX. I can say I played Street Fighter II online and won the match!

But otherwise, no. My Hamzone Omni Satellite Television SUCKS. Thanks for offering, though.

"HAMZONE ATT HOMES. Love the ham, love the home."

this guys is talkin jibberish fran..homezone..is the name of the receiver ..you get the same programming as you would from dish

I think I'm going with DirecTV. It's the general consensus from everyone I've asked, and it's beating Dish in the poll.

I'm probably gonna go with the PLUS HD, free DVR and HD Receiver.

I've chosen to go with DirecTV. It just seems more reliable, and that is the general consensus around here, at work, my friends, etc.

I'm getting the PLUS HD package with an HD DVR.

UPDATE: I went to the complex to get my address, etc. straightened out.

It turns out they offer Dish in HD only, and for cheaper. So I went with America's Top 200 with HD channels for around $50 a month.
