Saving Youtube Videos

Okay, so I follow these instructions, but all that happens is that when I try to save it as .flv, Firefox saves it as video.flv.htm. So, how do I make Firefox not do that?

It can only be saved as FLV format. You either need an FLV player or you have to convert it.

Yeah, but it doesn't save it as .flv. It saves it as "filename.flv".htm, which my Flash player doesn't recognize.

Then rename it and get rid of the .htm...

As long as the file type is .flv at its core, the .whatever name doesn't matter. Then again I am assuming you are saving these correctly. If you're ending up with an html file (one that opens in Explorer or Firefox), then you're not following directions.

Okay, here's what I'm doing.

1. Copy paste the URL.
2. Click "download".
3. Right click, "save link as..."
4. what's in there is simply "get_video". I rename it "video.flv". there's no option to change the type of file
5. Firefox automatically begins downloading it as "video.flv.htm". Tell me what direction I'm not following.

Don't rename it. Save it with the name it gives you and rename it afterwards.
