In the sequel, which I hope Bryan Singer and his wack pack have nothing to do with:) , what would you rather see in the film element wise?

Would you rather stick with the Donner/Singer way of thinking, with a more pure science driven Superman that features him fighting natural disaster caused by growing crystals and nuclear bombings over real estate property, a world that features Superman as a scientifically explained character, where most elements are explained scientifically.........

.....Or would you rather see a movie with more sci-fi elements, with different alien races, different dimensions, time travel, mystical powers, fanatical storylines, cosmic craziness, etc etc............

.........or would you rather see a blend of the two?

Make it both.
Honestly I don't understand the question. How can you have one without the other?

Let me simplify. Would you rather see the Superman franchise take a more sci-fi turn in the sequel, if there is one, or would you rather it stick with the scientific based version like the Donner film.

Probably a balanced combination. However, that said, I'd like to see Brainiac and Darkseid in sequels. I can't see Singer doing either one justice, but if they are done by someone in a Superman film, that would be great.

If someone were able to adapt an Apokolips...Now! or Legacy storyline that could work great. Also, if Brainiac were to be shown uploading information from other worlds and working his way to earth that would be cool. One could see that there are other races out there. Then one could also see that Brainiac desires earth as well.

Darkseid could also be seen as coveting earth for whatever reason, and see that it merits an invasion. Both could really be epic events and illustrate just how powerful Brainiac and Darkseid are.

I chose both. I do like aspects of the realism factor, but not in the Donner sense. I also like the sci-fi angle as well, but I don't want to see Superman flying through space all over the place without having to breathe. That's lame, IMO.

One thing I don't want to see is just natural disasters. That is so played and old. While I understand Luthor's role in the Superman Mythos, I want to see someone else, and not other Kryptonians (unless they bring in Kara). I don't want to see Zod ripoffs. Superman has a good rogues gallery. They need to use it.

Why don't you want Singer back? He rules as a director!

I think what the origional poster is asking is do we want the science-based Sci-Fi of the Donner Films and Superman Returns, or the more fantasy-based Sci-Fi of the comic books... of course, most of the responses have been towards the fantasy elements, and not the grounding factors of a science-heavy Sci-Fi, though, of course there IS science involved with any kind of Sci-fi, however, I don't think too many people here want the Science to limit the fantasy ever, which is what Donner and Singer did.

I personally feel that the series has already started, and changing the tone completely would alienate fans of the movie, and still fail to draw haters of the first movie...
