Deadpool Scooters are 100% manly!-The Deadpool general discussion thread

My guess is, if Colossus is in this, he'll be in his armored form the entire time, possibly CG and they'll just hire a voice actor.

Why would it be problematic? If done right and they show her as having affection and friendship with him and he isn't borrible to her then it would be fine

You don't see what would be problematic with a 60+ year old black woman calling a white guy "master" like she does quite frequently in the comics. Or the way he treats her like absolute crap? He pretty much tortures her early on.

In the early script, Al and Wade are just roommates, but he is a ass to her and sort of makes her build ikea furniture. She's not really his prisoner.

That is absolutely not how it is in the script. Deadpool plays pranks on her but it's very clear she's not a slave and she has no problem with dishing back the insults and jokes.

For Colossus it's a much larger role than any of his parts in the X-Men films, which were basically cameos.

I hadn't read the leaked script from a while ago, so it's good to hear they didn't go that route with their relationship. Way too off putting.

So Cudmore is not returning as Colossus it's been confirmed, very disappointing to me this and the first bad point of the movie so far.

Cudmore's Collosus never left much of an impression on me, aside from his brief action scene in X2. That's probably the script and directors' faults, and not so much the actor himself. Nonetheless, the new Collosus will hopefully have more screen presence and a Russian accent for Deadpool to make fun of.

He does play a fairly sizeable role in the leaked script. Makes him much more of a true character. I don't really care who they get (preferably Russian) as long as they make Colossus respectable.

My thoughts on Cudmore's departure:

I'm curious as to what the people disappointed by the Colussus recast are truly going to miss from Cudmore's performance? I can't remember him doing much of anything, personally.

I think people are just upset because it somehow "ruins" the continuity in some way and it's not the same actor from the prior three movies. I'd much rather they got a better actor that can carry the role than sticking with the same actor just for continuity sake. Besides, Cudmore's role in X2, X3 and DOFP were so small, the general audience is not even going to care or tell the difference.

Worked out more than fine for Marvel with Cheadle replacing Howard.

Yeah, I was extremely unimpressed. He just didn't feel like Colossus at all.

So, what's the status on Deadpool's face and body being so grievously ugly? Because for a while I've always thought since Ryan Reynolds is a heart throb, they wouldn't want to make him look so ugly, I'm thinking that the executives would this though, not Reynolds himself. Reynolds is passionate about the project, so I'm sure such a thing wouldn't pop up. But honestly? I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Oh, he'll be ugly, I have no doubt about that whatsoever.

They are gonna have the flashbacks where he can be a heart throb, but I'm certain they are going to keep him ugly once he fully becomes Deadpool. They budged on the R-rating to get this made, but for everything else I'm sure they are going to fight.

The leaked script had him ugly and it was pretty integral to the plot.

He's seeking vengeance on the bastards who tortured him and caused his severe disfigurement in the first place. There's lots of flashbacks with him as a Hollywood handsome young man but once he gets his powers he's scarred and deformed like his comic counterpart.

Hey admins, can we close one of these general discussion topics down... We're having the same conversations in both

I hope Colossus will be metal this time.

As opposed to?

I just want him to look less like Liquid. His X2 design is still the best of them all.

Deadpool will be ugly, it's a major part of his characterisation. He's a tragic character, he just jokes around and treats people like **** as a defense mechanism because he's sad and angry about what happened to him. The screenplay does a great job at showing why he is the way he is. Deadpool is basically Frankenstein's monster... but crossed with Bugs Bunny.

His DOFP look is the one that is closest to the comics, well except for the hair.

The X2 look is nice but its a bit bluish.

Agreed. I think because they gave his metal skin a musculature look it gave it more definition than flat metal of those since
