Deadpool Scooters are 100% manly!-The Deadpool general discussion thread

I doubt that it will be. It'd be cool and I'd be all for it if it did happen, but it's not absolutely necessary. The X-Men films already proved that you can push the envelop while still keeping a PG-13 rating. Fabian Nicieza wrote a really good Deadpool for years while still keeping it PG-13 (something that he himself pointed out when this movie was finally confirmed).

People wanting an R-rating is not about wanting the ugliest and meanest movie possible, full of profanity and explicit violence and gore. The people who think 'Die Hard' or 'The Matrix' would be PG-13 today (the way THEY ARE, without one frame cut), IMO, don't get it.

My ideal Deadpool movie would look pretty much like his video game and that's something you can't make without R-rating.

Another interview with Reynolds on the Director, rating and budget.

He's normally much more gracious. He didn't really seem like he wanted to do this interview but was still very polite.

Yeah, he's seemed pretty exhausted in the past few recent interviews I've seen. Apart from the Sundance promoting and Deadpool prep I think he just became a Dad so he definitely is not getting any sleep right now with that alone. I'm sure he just wants to be with his Wife and kid at the moment.

More from Reynolds...

Comic-book fans wanted a Deadpool spinoff for years, but it seemed like it was a dead proposition. How did the project suddenly get on the fast track to production?
Leaked test footage. Exclusively the leaked test footage, 100 percent.

Who leaked it?
I would have, if I had known it would have caused that! Honestly, we all thought Tim Miller, the director, had leaked it. But I have since investigated that enough, in quiet moments when he was beyond the point of being penalized by anybody, and he said that he really didn’t do it. The initial [leak] came from Fox they think — someone recorded the footage on their iPhone and then released it. And then once that happened, somebody hacked into Blurred Studios and got the original footage in high-res and put it online.

So when you saw it online were you nervous? Excited?
I was excited, because you can look back at an email chain from all of us, the core group involved in Deadpool, saying “We should leak this, f—-,” like three years ago. Saying, “Hey, if this thing is going to stagnate, one of us should just say ‘Whoops, I slipped it online by accident.’” And nobody seemed to want to nut up and do that, myself included. Someone did it for us, years later, when we all completely assumed it was dead in the water.

Now, we get to make the movie. We don’t get to make it with the budget of most superhero movies, but we get to make it the way we want to make it, so that’s even more exciting than having a catered lunch.

This will be your second superhero movie as the leading man. What did you learn from the first, Green Lantern, that you can bring to this one?
Well, script. When we shot Green Lantern, nobody auditioning for the role of Green Lantern was given the opportunity to read the script, because the script didn’t exist. I’m not complaining about it — it was an opportunity of a lifetime, and if I were to go back and retrace my steps, I would probably do everything the exact same way. But script, that’s what’s different on this one.

We’ve had a script for three years. The script got leaked, and people even loved that. That says a lot — if you can create a script around a comic-book character that is directly within the canon of the character and be embraced. That’s a huge step in the right direction. I’ve since learned that a lot of superhero movies don’t really have a fully functioning draft of the screenplay ready until they’re already well into shooting.

Heh, that's really cool that someone just dropped it and it kicked FOX into gear. Makes you wonder why the constant fan clamour didn't push them to make the film earlier, nothing has changed!!

Is Deadpool gonna teleport in this,is he gonna have a magic satchel?

I don't remember any teleportation in the leaked script but maybe he and Cable can bodyslide when Cable's introduced later on.

All for Morena.

Rather see her as Domino then Nessa though...

Yes! And she is currently employed by FOX. Hopefully it's not De Gouw. Nice to look at but not much of an actress.

De Gouw was terrable as Huntress.Although better on dracula.still not that much of actress.

Morena Baccarin was nominated for emmy on Homeland plus with resume of
Firefly/Serenity,V,and Gotham not to mention voice work on Justice League
Unlimited,Son of batman, and the flash why haven't she been cast for comic book film yet.

All great points! She was always my Wonder Woman back when it was Joss' movie.

I personly was shocked Joss whedon picked Cobie Smolders over her for Maria Hill.I find morena to be superior actress.

Add Stargate SG1/The ark of truth to Morena's geek credits. She would have been great as
Wonder Woman

I always wanted her to play Wasp.

I'll take whatever comic role they give her though. Love that chick.

Still hoping they throw in Domino here, cause she would be killer. Plus have a role that would allow her to be in more films. Not sure how much they will have Nessa return. Or if she will kick some ass. She's not a mutant in the old script. Probably due to the Mystique similarities.

Such geek cred! Yeah, I like Cobie but short-haired Morena from "V" was a dead ringer for Hill. Maybe she couldn't be let out of a TV contract to shoot. Oh well...

Hopeful Morena gets cast, loved her since Firefly and not only is she stunning but the girl can act too.

Seeing as we don't know much about how Deadpool is created here, I was thinking, maybe Deadpool is Stryker's replacement for Logan in this timeline? We have to assume Stryker continues down his adamantium searching quest, and with Logan no longer the point man on the team, perhaps the experiment is done on Wade Wilson. Obviously it doesn't work right, and we get Deadpool?

That's a decent idea but I can't see this movie being that faithful to the x-franchise. I think it will take some elements but be more of its own thing.
