I always thought Scorpion/The Scorpion was up there with the Green Goblin, and Doc Ock. I was never sure why. He's just so... awesome. :P
Here's a conversation I had with The_Ones (fellow SHH! member) about how Scorpion could be implemented into a Spidey film. I've left out the other plots, and have currently only focused on the Scorpion subplot for this 'idea' of mine.
Any way to improve? :P
And a Scorpion concept? I wanted to give it a Spidey-esque feeling.
Here's a conversation I had with The_Ones (fellow SHH! member) about how Scorpion could be implemented into a Spidey film. I've left out the other plots, and have currently only focused on the Scorpion subplot for this 'idea' of mine.
Turtle_man (5:28:09 PM): If I were to write it, Peter would know Mac/Malcolm. The beginning of the film would be a bit like those of the first two movies.
Turtle_man (5:28:34 PM): Peter would be introduced to an acquaintance named Malcolm Gargan (a guy in his mid 30's). Malcolm would obviously know Captain Stacy (a good excuse to bring back Captain Stacy), and would be good friends with Gwen Stacy. After having met Malcolm a few times, Peter begins to understand he is a good man, but his life outside of his career is not too great. His relationship with his parents is strained, but Malcolm tries to make the best of it. Malcolm/Mac had a short career as a private investigator, and has now been a detective for a few years. Peter and Malcolm get to know each other a bit in some fashion, with Malcolm meeting MJ and Aunt May once or twice.
Turtle_man (5:28:58 PM): But JJ is getting fed up with Spider-Man. He wants to prove Spider-Man is a criminal. It wouldn't be a matter of "How does Pete get those photos". After all, Eddie got his fair share of photos. Peter, knowing Malcolm is a detective, dons the suit once in a while to help Mac. Malcolm, noticing how Spider-Man can easily fight crime, while he slaves over trying to solve cases one at a time, becomes slightly envious of Spider-Man.
Turtle_man (5:32:10 PM): After Spider-Man has helped Gargan with many of these crimes, Malcolm ends up being the only one without a case. JJ finally becomes fed up with Spider-Man, and calls Malcolm in. They converse about the circumstances, and about how JJJ needs to know if Spider-Man really is a hero, or if he's a fake. Despite being envious of Spider-Man, Mac refuses. He believes Spider-Man is a good person, but JJ then asks why he never shows his face. He tells Mac to spy on Spider-Man just to see if he's doing anything suspicious.
Turtle_man (5:35:13 PM): When Peter happens to walk into the office with a batch of photos, Mac greets him, and asks how he gets those photos. "I didn't see you there", he says. Pete tells him Spider-Man allows him to take his photos. Mac nods his head, trying to make sense of it, but can't really decide if Peter was correct or not. JJ takes the photos, and pays Peter. Peter leaves.
Turtle_man (5:38:06 PM): JJ continues telling Mac about using an advanced, state-of-the-art technology that would allow its user to travel around the city easily. Mac looks up, and tells him there's no need to do this. JJ then exclaims the suit's advantages in battling crime. He also offers Mac an accelerated salary, and the chance to stop Spider-Man from harming innocent people. He also tells him the Captain (Stacy) wants him to go through with it. Malcolm reluctantly accepts, and is told of the technology they are sponsoring. The "Scorpion Combat-Suit", developed by the military corporation, Hammer Industries, is a powerful suit that replicates Spidey's powers, and 'simplifies' combat.
Turtle_man (5:39:55 PM): Mac takes the suit, and injects a formula meant to boost his adrenaline, and his mental alertness. The formula, combined with specific genes of a scorpion (awareness, strength, speed, and such), seems to work. The genes, combined with the mental boost, however, do not work properly, and his brain is also affected by the formula. He becomes quite dizzy for a moment, but escapes from it. He then goes through a series of vigorous tests. He learns about the suit as he goes along. He tests his instinctive ability to feel objects coming at him, and his quick reflexes. Everything seems enhanced, including his own mental capacity.
Turtle_man (5:40:47 PM): He agrees to confront Spider-Man about his identity. JJ dubs him the "Scorpion" as scorpions prey on spiders, and the tail is more of an indication of that than anything else.
Turtle_man (5:42:16 PM): Scorpion goes around the city, but, rather than finding Spidey, becomes sidetracked by battling petty thieves, and such. Malcolm gets caught up in the belief that he can achieve great feats with the formula. Although he wants to help people, the sideeffect of the formula begins to reveal itself, and he slowly becomes frustrated with everyone relies on him to solve their problems (Mac previously hated being so 'slow' at his job, but realizes being quick doesn't take away the constant work he must do). As this happens, the sideeffect kicks in, and he slowly becomes more agressive, losing stability. This happens between him being Mac and being the Scorpion. The sideeffect confuses him at times, and he has headaches, and memory lapses. At this point, he is still communicating with friends and family. Things begin to worsen tremendously, though.
Turtle_man (5:43:07 PM): Later on, he's walking down the street, and runs into a person being beaten by a thug. He goes after the thug, his aggression and confusion overwhelm him, and he kills the thug. The other man looks at him, but panicking to keep himself clear of charges, and with poor judgement, Mac wounds him severely. The man later dies in hospital. The police arrive, and Mac flees. Realizing what he's done, and with his mind going back and forth between realities, he dons the suit and tells himself he got caught up in his own selfish thoughts, but can't die until he completes his goal. All the while, his goals have become more than just goals. They've become obsessions.
Turtle_man (5:46:20 PM): He begins to lose sight of the differences between right and wrong, and he proceeds to hunt after Spider-Man, hurting anyone who interferes, killing criminals when need be. When he confronts Spider-Man, and they battle, Spidey convinces him he must stop, and he snaps out of it for a second. He looks at Spider-Man and tells him he can't die until his job is complete. He's lost sight of everything else. He doubts his ability to break away from this after everything he's done, and he couldn't have come this far knowing it was all for nothing.
Turtle_man (5:51:17 PM): He then realizes all of this madness was JJ's fault, and begins to hallucinate. He believes he was trapped in the suit to keep him locked away from everyone else, and his life was meant to go downhill like this. He panics as he "realizes" he's too weak to remove the suit, and he is too much of a beast to take any of his actions back. He flees, and begins to speak to himself about what's happened. Assuring himself that now that he's a criminal, no one will accept him again, he clenches his fists. He then plans to attack JJ as a punishment for transforming him into such a monster.
Turtle_man (5:59:52 PM): He loses the rest of his mind, attacks Gwen (does not kill her, but threatens her to death because of her father's actions. Captain Stacy, only knowing half the story (JJ kept most of the important details away from him), allowed Mac to participate in JJ's private investigation), and goes after Jameson, rage filling his mind. Spider-Man intervenes, and Spider-Man knocks Scorpion unconscious. Scorpion is arrested.
Turtle_man (6:04:59 PM): When he wakes up, there's this vivid sequence where Mac (although in prison clothes) still believes he's in the Scorpion suit. He attempts to escape, and, while running through the building, runs into the suit. Realizing he's warping back and forth between what is real, and what is not, he takes the suit once more, knowing it is his only means of surviving (although struggling with this fact).
Turtle_man (6:09:56 PM): Scorpion then waits as Spider-Man captures a group of bank robbers. Once the thugs are captured, Spidey swings away, but is struck in mid-air by the Scorpion.
Turtle_man (6:17:26 PM): The suit is what lets Scorpion climb, right?
Turtle_man (6:17:52 PM): I'm guessing he isn't Superman.
Neo a anderson (6:18:12 PM): Yea, his nails are super sharp and dig inside hard rock
Neo a anderson (6:18:18 PM): its*
Turtle_man (6:18:22 PM): Okay.
Turtle_man (6:18:26 PM): I've got a good idea for his death.
Turtle_man (6:18:33 PM): Damn, right? I'm going to kill him off?
Turtle_man (6:18:35 PM): Yes. :P
Neo a anderson (6:18:42 PM): GET OUT OF MY HEAD
Turtle_man (6:19:18 PM): Scorpion pursues Spidey on the walls, the streets, following him along the rooftops and such.
Turtle_man (6:19:38 PM): It's like a car chase. They interact, punch each other, Spidey tries to web him, but Scorpion breaks free. He continues to pursue Spidey along New York's buildings, and reaches the top of a building. He knocks Spidey to the ground, ready to kill him.
Turtle_man (6:23:30 PM): Spidey webs him, and throws him backward, smashing an electrical tower (which happens to be on the building. Some are, you know), electricuting him, causing a powerful explosion, and breaking apart sections of the suit (he's not dead yet). Scorpion's mask is torn off, and as he slowly picks himself up, Spidey looks at him and realized it's Gargan He takes his mask off and tells him not to do this, and that he can change, and fix his life.
Turtle_man (6:27:22 PM): This comes as a shock to Mac, but he begins to doubt even this. Gargan, lost in all of the commotion, his own thoughts, and the beliefs that Spidey can't be Peter (despite all of the proof), charges toward Spidey, and they continue their battle on the rooftop. Mac, drowning in his own insanity, has lost the entire concept of his purpose as Scorpion, and only focuses on wanting Spider-Man dead. Gargan and Spidey continue to go at it, all while punching the rooftop, and breaking up parts of the building. Gargan looks at Spidey, an expression of pure insanity on his face. He lunges toward Spidey, and Peter jumps up, and knocks him off the rooftop. First, Gargan hits the edge of the building, breaking it off.
Turtle_man (6:27:49 PM): As he falls, debris fall, and paddle him around.
Turtle_man (6:28:07 PM): He realizes his claws are gone, and he can't attach himself to the wall any longer. In an in-and-out of reality sequence from Mac's point of view, he's seemingly hurt Gwen, and everyone he once knew (his memories are blending into a mess). His suit's armour has been destroyed, and his arms have been damaged.
Turtle_man (6:29:03 PM): Spidey, in panic, goes after Gargan, jumping off the building, and trying to get closer. As Spidey leaps after Gargan, Mac begins to feel the weight of what he's done, and realizes he's about to die. He understands he's lost his right to live. Peter tries to web Mac, but the piece of armour his web had attached to crumbles off of Mac. Spidey approaches even closer to Mac, but Scorpion lands on a parked car, immediately killing Scorpion.
Turtle_man (6:31:02 PM): Spidey lands, and looks at Gargan. The Scorpion suit is half-destroyed, and the police are soon arriving. He peers into his eyes, and he can see no expression, only a blank stare.
Turtle_man (6:32:45 PM): That's pretty much the Scorpion story I have. I'm not sure what sort of struggle Peter will have to go through in this one.
Turtle_man (6:32:51 PM): Anyway, yeah.
Neo a anderson (6:33:19 PM): *Saves to word so he can use it later to make Spider-man 5 at Sony*
Turtle_man (6:33:27 PM): lol
Neo a anderson (6:33:38 PM): Muauahahahaha. Plagerism!
Turtle_man (6:34:00 PM): If it becomes a movie, I'll be happy... even if you stole my idea lol.
Neo a anderson (6:34:17 PM): Lol. That is a fantastic idea for a movie
Neo a anderson (6:34:34 PM): Are you Frank Miller?
Any way to improve? :P
And a Scorpion concept? I wanted to give it a Spidey-esque feeling.
